Ballistas[edit]

How many points of Ballista Mastery do you have? My experience is that the skills on superior and normal siege have the same names (although they're technically different skills, since one does 50% more damage), but that putting points into mastery ranks changes the skills on both superior and regular siege together (e.g. AC mastery causes Fire ([&Bxk5AAA=]) -> Fire Improved Arrows ([&B19MAAA=]) on regular ACs and Fire ([&B6RJAAA=]) -> Fire Improved Arrows ([&B2pMAAA=]) on superior ACs). I have a feeling that you'll see Improved Ballista Shot on regular ballistas too.

If you have more than 0 points, could you put copies of the skill links on User:Dagger/Siege for me? (Type "/wiki " into the game client, shift+click on each ballista skill, then hit enter and copy the links out of the search box.) I'm eventually going to put all siege skills on their pages, it just needs copies of the links, a willingness to add a bunch of skills to every page, and me not being lazy... -- Dagger (talk) 19:33, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

I currently have 3 ranks of Ballista Mastery.
Regular Ballista [&B4lIAAA=][&B4dIAAA=][&B4NIAAA=][&B4FIAAA=]
Superior Ballista [&B3RMAAA=][&B3dMAAA=][&B3ZMAAA=][&B3VMAAA=]
This was my superior ballista before I got the third point into the mastery to unlock Swift Bolt: http://puu.sh/3SWUt.jpg
This is it now with 3 points: http://puu.sh/3SWXs.jpg
On a regular ballista with 3 points: http://puu.sh/3SWYJ.jpg
As you can see the change from Improved Ballista Bolt to Swift Bolt does nothing but change the ability/icon/name, making the 3 points into the master quite pointless if you use a lot of superior ballistas.
Hope this helps. --Sevenix (talk) 20:48, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll add them to my notes. We'd need somebody with 2 mastery ranks to double-check, but I'm getting pretty sure that the "Fire Improved Bolts" skill isn't from superior ballistas, but from the "Increases ballista damage by 25%" mastery bonus. It sounds like you just didn't notice the skill on regular ballistas because you don't use them much. (I can confirm that the recharge time on both normal and superior ballistas is 2s with 0 points, by the way.)
I suspect "faster bolts" means that the bolts travel faster, not that the skill recharges faster. (I assumed it was the latter too, but the recharge time for the first skill seems to be 2s everywhere -- even though Fire (Ballista) was claiming 3 for the past year...) -- Dagger (talk) 23:16, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
