Gathering after upgrade

Under notes, it states "You may gather from the normal candy corn node first then upgrade it on the same day and be able to gather it again." This is not true. I gathered from a normal gift of candy corn, upgraded later in the same day, went back to my home instance, however the candy corn still showed as still mined.
