I like your style. Can I use some of the code? Till034 23:15, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
- Sure; feel free. (I totally didn't completely steal the idea from Infi and then begin to convert it to CSS. Because that would be... IDK.) ;) Aqua (T|C) 23:50, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Colors[edit]
Whilst the designs of the navs are fine in my opinion (biased as my opinion on this topic is), there are a few color choices that should be less saturated;
- PvE's yellow is too bright and hurts the eyes a bit.

- Asura and Sylvari colors are slightly too contrasting and would benefit from less saturation.

The rest is great, good choice of colors. - Infinite - talk 15:50, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
Race[edit]
I'd suggest that if you want readers to associate a colour with a particular race, it would help to pro-actively choose colours that may already be somewhat associated with races for whatever reason. I took a stab at it here, hopefully the few words at the top will help you to understand my point. This is a very minor point of no real importance, I just feel it could be beneficial to your overall objective. A F K When Needed 20:39, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
- I was basing the colors off of the race selection in-game panel. Asura are a purple, norn are blue, sylvari are green, charr are red-orange and humans are yellow... Aqua (T|C) 21:29, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit]
It is time we propose this design in a more "main space-y" location, wouldn't you agree? - Infinite - talk 20:44, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
Storyline templates[edit]
Hi, I had started a discussion about the current storyline templates and was directed here by Infinite to see the "upcoming proposals". So I hope you don't mind, if I now start the discussion here. It is clear, that the current templates will lead to nowhere, if they try to comprehend the complete storyline of a race. Your approach with only three 'quests' per chain (predecessor - actual mission - follow up) is much better, but I think this will still lead to some complications. If the templates covers all three starting chains, it can be difficult at points when the story branches further. So you may end up witth nine rows, if the stroy chain matters you came from (like, if the decision of the father of a charr leads to different stories depending on you legion). If that doesn't matter, it still has to be shown that all starting decicisions (like legion) can lead to any further branch (like father). That's why I would make the following proposal: a) we need a separate page for the storyline of a race, to show all combinations and forks and branches. The template should have a header to link there. b) In normal circumstances the template needs only one line, because the specific 'quest' belongs to a specific chain. Only of the chain forks into several chains or belongs to several chains it needs more rows. c) The template should have an indication on the left from which chain it comes and on the right to which chain it leads. To make these points more understandable, I have created some examples on my user page. (Just to note: I'm not very good with wiki code and that are just exapmles to show the idea, so the style and everything can be changed) What do you (or anyone else) think of this? And sorry for the wall of text :) Balwin 16:48, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hey, sorry for the delay. (I'm too busy for my own good.) Check out how I'm doing the charr one and let me know what you think... Aqua (T|C) 03:05, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- I'm under the impression, that the template we are talking about is intended to be used as footer for the single missions. I think (and hope) that at some point a dedicated page for every races stroyline will be created. Dividing up the different story arcs is a good idea (if there are no additiona connections, like 'Loyal Soldier' for Blood legion is different from 'loyal Soldier' from Iron legion - then we get more trouble) But you can't put everything into one single template. You get a huge footer and that is my main complain about the currently used template. The template can't and shouldn't be a template of the whole story of a race (that should be a dedicated page). The template should only provide some necessary information to give an orientation. Your current proposal (in contrast to the one before) seemt to try to include everything into it. And like I said I think this will fail. Balwin 18:46, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- I agree with the above statement that encompassing this much information into these templates is excessive and disorderly. The other races have a better system, displaying only current, previous and following quests. If, though I doubt that, storylines branch post-Biography we can still find a more concise way to display such. - Infinite - talk 21:02, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
