Curtis Corbett Is the ancestor of the great Hero Lucius Corbett also known as Mesmer of the Rift. Lucius was an one of the Great Heroes to conquer darkness in Tyria, Cantha and Elona during the Great War 250 years ago. After returning home, Lucius built his family a great mansion outside of Divinity Coast. As the small settlement called Divinity's Reach once started to grow, the family started a bank in the city. The bank is today the greatest of Tyria and the mansion remains the home of the Corbett family. Curtis Corbett, the young, charming and elegant ancestor of Lucius was designated to once be his fathers successor in the bank. Curtis however, did not share this vision, and instead became a tailor. One night, as he was looking for through the attic of his family estate, he uncovered the Obsidian Armor that once belonged to Lucius. Along with the set, there was also a peculiar looking mask, and long staff which appeared to be oozing with dark magic. Once he equipped the items, he felt a magical current channeling through his body -he was now a Mesmer of the Rift.
