Over 250 years ago, a great warrior emerged in the mysterious lands of Cantha. His exploits were reknowned throughout his homeland, as his mastery of the sword and shield saved the troubled Kaineng City from the otherworldly grasp of Shiro The Betrayer. This is all we know.
This great warrior then moved to our land of Tyria. Back when Ascalon was a freshly smoking hole with live defenders at its gates, this warrior fought a war against the False Gods; the Unseen Ones. The defeat of these figureheads brought on a new terror, known only as the Titans. These deadly foes, as well as their Lich Lord master, also fell to the fabled Elemental Blade of the warrior.
Despite these feats, the warrior moved onto the now lost lands of Elona, where battered Sunspears recovered from a hopeless campaign against an Old God we know as Abaddon and its minions. The warrior ventured into the mists themselves to defeat this god, and from his victory emerged Kormir, the Goddess of Truth. This is all we know.
A saviour of all three Continents, the warrior joined an elite guild of adventurers, whose name and mantle has been passed down through history. The Council of Twilight fight to this very day in the mists. Many a battle fought today involves the guild in which this legendary warrior belonged.
Then a new threat appeared. What the mysterious Order of Whispers refer to as "The beginning of the End".
The destroyers awoke deep under Tyria, setting in motion a cascade of events that created the precarious position we lie in today.
Many battles were fought, and many were lost. The Asura emerged from their subterranean cities due to the destroyers, and the Dwarves were almost annihilated. Times seemed grim indeed.
The warrior, by sheer chance and luck, landed in the middle of these events. Wasting no time, he gathered allies from all nations and races, and struck back.
The Great Destroyer was killed at a great cost, but this may have saved us even today. The Order of Whispers tell us that the Great Dragons were delayed in waking up because of this setback to their unknown plans, thus buying our fragile race valuable time.
And so this warrior disappeared from history. We know not why, nor even when. For a time, he fought for the Council Of Twilight. His sword raining blows down on foes with his guild at his side.
His deeds were finally commemorated in a strange place known as the Hall of Monuments. This extravagant place survived the coming of the Dragons, and hold these tales. His armour and weapons remain, but his name does not.
All we know is that carved under the plaques describing his skill and justice, under the plaques that all warriors learn by, is a single word.
