History

Born in a world far from Tyria, Calysto was part of a primitive nation that sacrificed 21 children a year to their demon goddess Kahyet. These children's souls spent 21 years at one of the deepest levels of hell, becoming twisted and warped into powerful soldiers for Kahyet's armies. Calysto was one of these children. She served Kahyet with out question for centuries, succumbing to the power of the taint and embracing it like bliss and thus obtaining the powers of the wind demon. When sent to the prison world of Tyria, Calysto had her first contact with humans since her childhood... she walked amongst them for years; seeing how emotion played out, she slowly began to desire to feel again. Calysto recalled the feeling of grass beneath her feet, the wind through her hair, and the rain on her face; it was a craving far stronger than that of the taint. Through all her will, she rejected Kahyet's taint, causing the wind demon to lose control of one of her precious children.

Calysto went into to hiding for many years on Tyria, observing as the human population spread throughout the once barren world. Most of her time was spent meditating on her powers; without the taint, she was weak and vulnerable... she had to build up strength to walk amongst the humans again. Whilst re-gaining power somewhere deep in the desolate wastes of Elona, she came across and large temple that seemed to have appeared by the will of the winds themselves. Once inside she came across a door embroidered in gold in silver, once the door opened... she found herself in a land of peace and harmony. Light spewed from every corner, pure water filled the valleys in the mountainous terrain, and plants of glowing light sprung from the rocks and tiny islands. In the distance, winged creatures could be seen floating across the light filled sky. She was approached by the wing angel, Geneva. Geneva promised Calysto full restoration of her powers and pardon from her sins if she protected the people of Tyria from a great coming threat. Calysto hastily accepted and found herself in the center of the Shiverpeaks where a girl lay, near death. She released her soul to the mists and Calysto was once again flesh.

250 years ago, Primodious stirred in the Far Shiverpeaks. Calysto, along with a large army of other adventurers, helped to bring down its greatest champion and send Primordious back to his slumber. Through her help in the destruction of this great beast, she was allowed into the Ebon Vanguard and served them for many years. In 1087 AE Calysto came across and new and powerful guild called The Order of Vain. Somehow, the knew of her demonic blood and proceeded to expel her from her body and Tyria in one quick spell. She barely manged to escape from her body before the spell was finished; expelling herself weakened her greatly... she was unable to obtain flesh for a great number of years and has all but forgotten her former life in Tyria.

In 1303 AE Calysto had obtained enough strength to appear as a phantom to the races of Tyria. She discovered a woman who's unborn child was destined to die at birth; though sadness invaded her heart, she knew that she only had enough strength to become flesh in the newly born. Appearing to the woman in a dream, she explained to her the fate of her daughter and the fate of Tyria if Calysto was not brought into it. The woman assumed Calysto was a blessing from Dwayna and accepted her offer.

Calysto Myami was born in 1304 AE, Zen Mai Myami died during childbirth.

Present Day

Being born in human flesh has its pros and cons. Calysto is bound to the body she is in and cannot leave, she has become it's "soul", she currently has no memory of any of her past experiences, and she can now tap into the power of all four of the elements.

Today, Calysto serves as one of Queen Jennah's royal advisers. She deals specifically with matters that have to do with the Shining Blade, the Seraph, and the vassal guilds of Kryta. Her father is also a royal adviser in Queen Jennah's court. Calysto trains Shining Blade and Seraph elementalists recruits, as she is considered an expert at air magic in Kryta.

• Calysto herself has no physical body, she must possess one to become flesh.
• Calysto is one of the few angel/demon hybrids in existence and the only known one in Tyria.
• Due to her rejection of the taint, she must charge up to possess and retreat from physical bodies.
• Her knowledge of the Elder Dragons is lost to her.
• She wishes to cut The Order of Vain from Kryta's vassal program, the reason is unknown... even to herself.
• Except for occasional hot flashes, all angelic and demonic signs have disappeared from Calysto.
