The following is a guide which can be used to maximize the XP and SP earned during crafting.

The first thing to consider is what the basic requirements of each crafted item are. For example, a Chain helm requires 1 Bronze Helmet Casings, 1 Bronze Helmet Lining, and 1 Jute Insignia.

The second thing to consider is how many variations of each item exist. Keep in mind that these variations are not all available at the same tier. For example, 3 Jute Insignias are available at Tier 0, another 3 are available at Tier 25, and another 6 are available at Tier 50.

The third thing to consider is the total number of components will be needed to unlock all recipe variations. For example, there are 12 variations of Chain Helms (variations meaning 12 types of insignia that can be used). This means that you will need no more than 12 Bronze Helmet Casings and 12 Bronze Helmet Linings.

These can be figured out individually, if you've already unlocked some items, or by following the chart below.

Bronze[edit]

The following materials are required to discover every BRONZE RECIPE.

Refinement:

  • You should craft:

Discovery
You will want to make sure you have ample storage space to avoid taking selling breaks. The trading post is a great place to sell some of your crafted items, as you can often find buyers who will pay you a bit more than the merchant value. Proceed to the Discovery tab. Start off by crating the Tier 1 Boots, Leggings, Gloves, and Chest pieces. The general recipe is the two piece components (Casing and Lining, for example) and an insignia. Note that if you've already discovered all possible combinations of a specific set based on the insignias you have crafted, the icons of that set will become red. This simply means that you cannot discover any new recipes of that type until you unlock more isignias. Also, be careful that once a recipe is discovered, you close the "New Recipe Discovered" glimmering dialog so you don't mistakenly craft more than one of each variant.

Once all three variations are created, you should be close enough if not at the required level to craft the next 3 insignias (Healing, Precise, Resillient) as well as the Helmet components. Keep discovering items until you are able to craft the Shoulder components and Embroidered Insignia. if you followed the guide step-by-step, and did not craft duplicate items, you should be well on your way into the second level of crafting, and can begin Iron Recipes. Make sure you finish discovering all of the Bronze Recipes, as they will yield less experience the further your progress into the Armorsmith discipline.

Discovery
You will want to make sure you have ample storage space to avoid taking selling breaks. The trading post is a great place to sell some of your crafted items, as you can often find buyers who will pay you a bit more than the merchant value. Proceed to the Discovery tab. Unlike the Bronze recipes, all six armor pieces can be crafted from the get-go.

Once all three variations are created, you should be close enough if not at the required level to craft the next 4 insignias (Hearty, Honed, Rejuvenating, and Strong). Keep discovering items until you are able to craft the Embroidered Insignias. If you followed the guide step-by-step, and did not craft duplicate items, you should be well on your way into the second level of crafting, and can begin Steel Recipes. Make sure you finish discovering all of the Iron Recipes, as they will yield less experience the further your progress into the Armorsmith discipline.
