Detected Treasure Research[edit]
Documenting my research of possible spawn locations (and their in game coordinates using the mumble api for resource packs) for future use and possible integration into the detected treasure page if applicable.
Based on my observations I believe these things are true about detectable chests:
- Each instance spawns a number of chests randomly amongst possible locations
- There is a cap to the number of detectable treasure opened in a day (After opening 28 I couldn't sniff chests on locations that I hadn't opened that day even if my friends could see them)
- Once a location has been opened on any instance it cannot be found in other instances until daily reset (Couldn't find any counter example, but needs a bit more testing to confirm).
On the following day, before reaching what I thought was the cap, I asked a friend to find a cache I had already looted. I couldn't see caches that I had already looted. We also noticed that there were locations that I couldn't see and had not opened that day. These locations were close to other caches that I had opened. Based on these results, it's likely the caches behave like greater arcane chests and major kodan cache:
- Each instance spawns all the available caches. (Maybe not all of them, further testing required.)
- Each cache has one or multiple possible spawning locations. (Also possible that a group of chest shares a larger group of possible locations. More testing required).
- Once a cache is opened, it cannot be found again on any of it's possible locations until daily reset.
