Current Questions for ANet Devs[edit]
Stances
- How will stances work with the changes to energy? Will they just reduce the recharge of the stamina bar for performing rolling dodges or is there a different change?
Chilled
- Does Chilled affect the base recharge of skills or the remaining recharge of skills?
- Will Chilled affect skill recharges of skills used while a character is afflicted by the condition?
- Will Chilled's recharge effect linger after chilled is removed or will a skill's recharge return to normal and potentially be fully recharged when chilled ends?
Daze
- "Totally isn't a condition. Daze cannot be removed. It is a status effect like stun which disables your skills but doesn't disable movement." - Jon Peters [1]
- Is Daze removable in the same way that Stun is?
Vulnerability
- Will Vulnerablility affect either the attribute toughness or armor directly? Or will it affect damage in some other way?
Weakness
- Will Weakness affect either the attribute power or attack directly? Or will it affect damage in some other way?
Stealth
- There seem to be 3 different classifications of stealth. Superior Stealth, where you can do anything from movement, stealing, to attacking and remain under the effect. Major Stealth, where you can move and steal and remain under the effect. Minor stealth, where you remain under the effect if you take no other action than stealing.
- Does stealth behave like a "Stacking" effect such as bleeding? If not, is priority based on recency? Where Shadow Refuge's stealth could potentially remove Invisible Stalker's stealth? Or is priority based on some other factor?
Swiftness
- Are there passive and non-passive forms of swiftness? Do they stack?
Attunements
- Do attunements still have activation and passive effects?
- What are the active effects of changing to each attunement?
- What are the passive effects of each attunement?
Environmental Weapons
- Do environmental weapons affect movement speeds? Specifically Banners and Conjured Weapons? If so is this a negative effect only on the movement speeds or positive as well?
Sanctuary (Guardian Skill)
- I've seen that it is possible to damage those in a Sanctuary with AoE skills [2]. With the tradeoff of not being able to use skills and not being able to move very far while in a Sanctuary, is it intended for players to be able to take damage while in a Sanctuary?
Traits
- Has it been determined how many trait lines will be active at any given time in combat?
- Separate from the active number of traits at a given time in combat. Has the max number of trait lines accessible during combat been determined? For example will Elementalists have access to each of the trait lines for all four elements, but with only 1 of those 4 trait lines being active corresponding to the connected element?
Death Shroud
- Does Death Shroud or Life Force extend a necromancer's health? Specifically can the Life Force bar be an extension of health without being in Death Shroud Form?
- Does Death Shroud protect against all forms of unbalancing effects? Meaning Knockdown, Knockback, Launch, or Pull?
Balance
- What is the core concept that combat in Guild Wars 2 is being balanced around?
