I obviously want a source for this. - Infinite - talk 10:01, 24 January 2011 (UTC) EDIT: -grabs GoA- - Infinite - talk 10:05, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

-Also grabs GoA.- EiveTalk 10:13, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) Kay, so I found Tactician Kranxx on page 166. This is capitalized. Crusader is *NOT* capitalized. Did I just find an inconsistency or a hint that supports my own speculation, questions.... - Infinite - talk 10:14, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
No, it must be an inconsistency, the other professions are also not capitalized. What is this? - Infinite - talk 10:16, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Page 164: "Tactician Kranxx, of the Vigil." - Infinite - talk 10:18, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Start of a sentence, could just mean he is a tactician. Which could still be a rank either way. Not enough evidence to tell IMO. EiveTalk 10:18, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
I'll quote 166: "You going to get some rest? I'll stand watch until Tactician Kranxx gets back." Inconsistent capitalization compared to the other Vigil ranks. - Infinite - talk 10:22, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Ah, I stand corrected then. Alright, I'd say that's enough to keep the page. EiveTalk 10:24, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) And then, even later, another rank is added, which adds more confusion on page 189: "The male officer, Lieutenant Stafford raised his blade and shouted," It's only mentioned once, I believe, and is capitalized. Crusader on the same page is not capitalized. - Infinite - talk 10:27, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) It appears the ranks are only capitalized about 5 times, tops. Whereafter they drop in noteability and remain uncapitalized. In essence it is safe to assume tactician is in fact a rank and not a "hidden profession". -sulks off twoards his predictions page- - Infinite - talk 10:30, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Is "crusader" followed by a name? A crusader could be called Crusader Bob, like how a lieutenant could be titled Lieutenant Fred. Then there are captains, such as Captain Jack. (Ugh, can't believe I just did that.) pling User Pling sig.png 15:19, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Nope, on that page crusader is stand-alone, so I take it you mean only direct "rank + name" structures are capitalized, I will double check. :) - Infinite - talk 15:51, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
So far so good, I assume this continues throughout the entire novel. And I'm certainly questioning why I didn't think of it. I guess it's the speculation in me. - Infinite - talk 16:09, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Crap, I got excited as I thought this was a new profession :( --smøni 18:35, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

It's what I had been thinking for months now, I just overlooked this rank in my night-reading sessions for Ghosts of Ascalon. Should've busted my own speculation last year, but as I said, over-looked. Shame, I liked Tactician more than I like Engineer/Cannonneer/Conjurer. - Infinite - talk 18:39, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
