Indestructible while incapacitated?

It seems to not take any damage once it's below 10% - does it just look that way or is it really impervious to damage at that point? I'm currently waiting for it to explode because I'm p...ed off that the stone summit dwarves respawned the moment the tank entered the zone (I previously cleared them, thinking that's what expected of me, when in reality the others were hanging on a last enemy I didn't kill).
