I did some simple analysis of theoretical sigil of rage uptime. When dealing with chance to proc, the easiest way is to summate number of attacks times the time delay between each attack times the probability of each attack proccing the sigil from 1 attack to infinity attacks.
This is easily evaluated in excel by creating a column in increments of 1, a column beside it with =1-.9^(1-A2) and a column beside that with =a1+A2*B2. When you drag this down, you see that it rapidly converges on a probability weighted value of ten attacks per proc.
This puts the proc uptime at 3/(45+10T) for T=the average time between attacks for your character. After a bit of manipulation, you can get the damage increase of the rune for varying values of T. Some values are tabulated below. The chosen numbers are fairly arbitrary. If anyone wants to put meaningful values here, the formula is simply 6/(45+10T) to get the amount of benefit provided. Offhand, I know that T for shortbow is 0.5, or a half a second per attack, and that 1/3 is roughly the speed of a warrior attacking with a sword or axe hitting 3 targets.

-- Just so I understand, you're saying a shortbow with the superior sigil of rage gets a 12% increase in DPS? Or is that 0.12%?
- I understand what you are saying, you are saying that at max 12.6% increase in overall DPS, however its not all about that its about the "Spike" damage how you can overwhelm them before they can heal, kind of like "spike" teams in the original Guild Wars... what i am saying is... although it appears that the total output is not increased by that much, it is still helpful in killing things before they get the chance to kill you. If by some godly force of math you can figure out how to depict the usefulness in the burst area i would much appreciate that as a Thief myself 24.98.218.93 04:08, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
