- Indeed. I looked up to be certain, but it was even in the original doom, and was needed to get into a secret level, though as auron said, Quake made it popular (because in doom it only sped you up horizontally while in quake you could fly from one end of the map to the other) --El_Nazgir 13:39, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
