Regarding Eschenbacher comment about Lazarus VA[edit]
Eve Eschenbacher's comment regarding Lazarus is a bit confusing in the source even at the time it was posted because to me it actually refers to the voice actor of "Lazarus" aka Balthazar in disguise, hence Peter Jessop who voiced Balthy in both his true form and the mursaat disguise. ANet likely has Jessop listed as both Balthazar and Lazarus (without the air quotes) in their internal VA list (and note that Jessop's surname would come first in an internal VA list than Wasserman, so a quick search would provide Jessop's name first) since "Lazarus" played a prominent role in early episodes before the identity reveal that they wanted to keep a secret. If you listen to the voice of the real Lazarus in episode 6, however, it sounds completely different from "Lazarus" from previous episodes even if you removed the "god" filter from the earlier "Lazarus" voice. Compare Ep6 Lazarus's voice to Zommoros (voiced by Rick Wasserman), and you'll note similarities between the two in tone and intonation. Jessop's voice is a lot deeper (as can be confirmed in his voice acting videos on Fallout etc on YouTube) whereas Wasserman's has a slightly higher pitch and a more "quirky" sound with the way he often delivers lines (e.g. the the delivery of the line "Oh, that hair." that sounds like Frode with a "mursaat filter", or the delivery of the line "More human treachery?" that sounds like a deeper Zommoros). Thanks to SotO, we can compare the voices of Wasserman's more serious Frode and more quirky Zizel and note Lazarus-isms and Zommoros-isms in their voice, further suggesting a connection. It would be nice if ANet confirmed this, but I can't listen to Ep6 Lazarus voice and previous episodes' "Lazarus" voice and think they're the same voice actor because Jessop has a definite sound in all his many game roles which Ep6's more quirky Lazarus voice lacks to my ear. --Kossage (talk) 12:54, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
