Heart Mastery Progress appears to be capped per account and day[edit]
Completing the same Heart on another character on the same account and day does not grant any more mastery progess. So not only the number of tokens that may be handed in per heart, account and day is capped (to max. 4), but also the mastery progress. Which means that it will take at least 14 days for a Heart to max out its mastery. No matter how many characters you throw at it.
