Talk:Penn's Ultimate Wintersday Gift

"Likely named after Technician Penn." -- I don't see any connection between the two. More likely, it's a simple pun. "Penultimate" meaning second to last, and this being the second to last/largest Wintersday gift. I would agree that it has nothing to do with Technician Penn, who has no connections to Wintersday that we know of. Perhaps Penn does have some as of yet unrevealed connection, but until such a fact is made known this is just speculation over a coincidence and certainly inaccurate as describing as likely named after. Whether it's a reference to penultimate, I have no idea, but seems more probable than Technician Penn.--Wingsy (talk) 18:46, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
It seem to me is both. They picked Penn's name simply because it makes it sound "penultimate", but they did pick his name, whether they did it knowingly or not. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 17:53, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
If they chose to use the name Penn without consciously deciding that it is named after Technician Penn, then they simply picked the name "Penn" on its own grounds and it is just a coincidence that there is an NPC with that name. For the trivia to state that it is (or is likely to be) named after him we would need some further evidence that links the two together, such as if Technician Penn was an NPC on the infinirarium (wintersday gift and wintersday place) for example - but as it currently stands it's only the same name of an unimportant non-wntersday-related and easily forgotten NPC, and not even his full name as given in game either. Is it this wiki's job to document coincidences? As a genuine question. If that's the case then by all means we should mention that Technician Penn shares his name with this item. --Wingsy (talk) 00:35, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
