Talk:New Player Experience

Things I have heard from New players who do not know how to access things such as the wiki so they just say in game. I thought I would share these here:

• "This game is so frustrating! I click on one thing to use it and suddenly I am sitting! I did not want to sit! wtf"
• "How did I get inside the house sitting on their couch when I was just harvesting a garden? I am so confused. Wait how do I get off the couch?" *
• "Why do NPC's open dialog with me when I just wanted to use something near them? Why are they always near things that I want to use?!?!"
• "How am I supposed to ask for help when I can't talk to anyone?"
• "Why is there no guild recruitment thing in game like other games have? People say in map chat they are recruiting but then I can't message them because it says they are not in the same map as me or that we are not mutual friends. Of course not. I don't know them but want to reply to their recruitment message. This game does recruitment oddly."
  

And this one made me chuckle as I can relate but feel bad as they were having a bad day:

"8:04pm: STOP sitting! I want the quartz! NOT to SIT!!"
"8:04pm: And I don't want [throw balloon] neither!!!"

That made me feel bad for them and was what made me decide to start typing here what new players are experiencing. I have spent a lot of time explaining things to them when they ask in say chat and I am within ear shot.
