Nor vs. or[edit]

When I put "nor" into that sentence, I wasn't sure if it was right or not. But, I was too lazy to look it up.

However, being a professional writer now (more-or-less), one rule I've been learning is that I SHOULD look it up when in doubt.

So, I checked the Chicago Manual of Style, but it doesn't mention it. Which is strange considering how many thousands of end-cases they DO list.

So, I used Google, and found two sources (both only marginally reliable, at best), that said nor is proper, but only if used after each element in the negative list. And, no commas.

But, I am not sure I want to do that. Does the wiki have a standard source for end-case grammar questions like this? Specifically, which is preferred, a negative clause with a list and a positive conjunction, or using nor three times? Daddicus (talk) 00:19, 11 August 2019 (UTC)

I don't think the wiki has set grammatical rules, except for the formatting rules outlined in Guild Wars 2 Wiki:General formatting. Personally, I think using "or" is easier to read. --BuffsEverywhere (talk) 10:05, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
I think you're right; it seems really cumbersome to use three words instead of one (plus three commas). I'm going to leave it alone. Thanks!
