Name Origins

The name "Francis Magellan" is likely a reference to two famous seafaring explorers: Ferdinand Magellan (who carried out the first circumnavigation of the world, although he did not survive the journey) and Sir Francis Drake (who carried out the second circumnavigation of the world).
