What is this for?

One of these dropped from a Veteran Earth Elemental while doing the heart "Help Ambr's krewe defend the lab" at Mon Maelstrom. Tooltip has the flavor text: "A small piece of an Earth Elemental. You can feel intese power radiating from it."

Couldn't find anywhere to hand in for heart credit. Sells for 1s 8c --Surlywombat 20:59, 10 September 2012 (UTC)

I just found one as well as a Heart of Darkness from a veteran shadow imp in the same area. My guild seems to think they have a use in the Mystic Forge but I don't know for certain. --Vesmir 15:52, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

Not sure about Heart of Darkness, but the Fragment doesn't show up at the Mystic Forge. 15:51, 14 September 2012 (UTC)

Just found this on Reddit "Burning Ember" + "Fragment of Earth" + "Heart of Darkness" + "Heart of Fire" = Champion Event Bring all 4 items to Hellmouth Falls and you'll get given an option to "Add a little spice" (or along those lines) to the Boiling Hot Lava with an interact option. This cannot be repeated an infinite amount of times for event farming because the Boiling Hot Lava has a cooldown.

^^This is correct, boiling lava is a tiny interact point at the TOP of the falls (one of the lava vents/pools up the side of the mountain)
