Talk:Discovering Darkness
That's not the Caithe of the broader story[edit]
I've just played this story episode for the fourth time, and noticed that Caithe really doesn't come out of it well. Her behaviour in killing a Nightmare Court Recruiter who has told us what we neeed to know, after we (the character) have explicitly given them assurances that they can go free, is classic "bad guy" behaviour. It puts her firmly in the same camp as the Nightmare Court, and feesl utterly out of character set against the way she's presented in the rest of the game. And it's brought into even sharper relief two episodes later by the contrasting, thoroughly honourable behaviour of the (Nightmare Courtier) Gavin character in the final episode of the story. It's a small thing - but it really ought to be altered. Sure, maybe it's intended to somehow show the characters as more complex than "good" and "bad" - but it doesn't achieve that; it's a small, random, evil act in isolation, and it jars.
