Guild Wars 2 Wiki:Disruption
This page is a suspended policy proposal. It has been superseded by a list of common wiki practices. The Guild Wars 2 Wiki has no policies. All former proposals are kept for historical preservation. |
Actions which disrupt the wiki are not permissible. Intentional disruption may result in a ban or other punishment.
Disruptive actions include, but are not limited to:
- Personal attacks
- Vandalism
- Trolling
- Harassment
- Technical disruption
Personal Attacks[edit]
In discussions on the wiki, do not personally attack other contributors. Instead, address their arguments.
Vandalism[edit]
Vandalism is any edit which deliberately disrupts or harms the Guild Wars 2 Wiki.
Trolling[edit]
Trolling is a deliberate, bad faith attempt to disrupt the editing of the Guild Wars 2 Wiki. Unlike vandalism, which disrupts the wiki for the readers, trolling is intended to disrupt the use of the wiki by editors.
Harassment[edit]
Don't harass other users.
Technical disruption[edit]
Disrupting the technical functioning of the wiki, by making extremely large edits or by modifying a page such that the talk, edit, history, etc. buttons are inaccessible, for example, may be dealt with much more quickly and harshly than other types of disruption, due to the more difficult to deal with and severe problems caused by technical disruption.
Be warned that some forms of technical disruption can be considered Denial of Service attacks, which can have legal ramifications.
General disruption[edit]
Other actions which intentionally disrupt the wiki, according to the discretion of the sysops, are also punishable.
Punishment[edit]
These punishments are only a guideline. Punishments for specific cases may vary based on the discretion of sysops.
- Warning
- Three day ban, if warning is ignored
- Longer ban if the disruption is resumed after the three day ban
