GFXSettings.Gw2.exe.xml

From Guild Wars 2 Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to search

The GFXSettings.Gw2.exe.xml file, located in %appdata%/Guild Wars 2/, contains information about the Graphics preferences and is used by the GeForce Experience to 'optimize' your settings. Additionally there is a similar file named GFXSettings.Gw2-64.exe.xml for the 64 bit client version.

The GeForce Experience or a NVIDIA GPU is not required because the game will always read from and write to this file on all systems.

Reading[edit]

There is a slight delay between changing your settings in game and the file being updated. It can update after the following events:

  • At startup
  • After changing any of the settings in game
  • On map change

Altering[edit]

It's possible to alter the file to change your graphic settings when the game isn't running. The values are only read on launch so altering it when the game is still running will have no effect.
