Category talk:Storyline templates
[edit]
I put this here, because I don't know of a better place and because this has to do with ervery storyline template. I'm very against the idea, thet we have a template which contains every step of a storyline of a race to be put as a footer of every storyline 'mission' page. These templates contains already several chains of events and we know there will be several more forks during the path of every story line. This will end in a giant template trying to cover complex structures and I see this will NOT work. So I propose we create pages like [[Charr storyline]], [[Norn storyline]], [[Human storyline]] etc. There all chains of events in the storyline can be listed and the templates only have links to that page. - Against what idea, exactly? This is a category to categorize the individual race storyline templates. - Infinite - talk 18:15, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe I was not clear enough. I'm against the current (and forseeable future) content of the storyline templates belonging to this category. I started the discussion here, because it includes all existing stroyline templates (and the storyline templates to be created) and I didn't want to discuss it in one particular template. I'm against the idea that these templates contains links to all possible storyline "missions" for one race, because the story line will brance many times and this will lead to gigantic and complex templates. I propose (for all storyline templates) just a simple structure with a link to the related page with the a list of all storyline elements. Balwin 18:32, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
- How about navs of the previous and following quests for every part of the personal storyline, divided by biography option (so up to 3 lines per nav, and 3 quests per line)? That's what the current proposals are, anyway. - Infinite - talk 20:54, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
- The current templates have more than three quests per line. So is there a place with a discussion about the "current proposals" and can you lead me there? Or did you just speak about the current state of the templates? Generally speaking is there a better place to discuss the format and content of the storyline templates than this? Because I have some ideas how the templates shoud look like and what they should contain, but I don't want just start changing the existing ones. Balwin 17:04, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
- Follow the instructions on the note here and you'll see all the upcoming changes, nav-wise. - Infinite - talk 17:09, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I have posted my thoughts on this matter at the discussion page of the site you linked and I have put an example of the basic idea I have on my user page. Balwin 17:18, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
