Category talk:Bulk foods

From Guild Wars 2 Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to search

This category page includes some historical bulk foods (Butter, Chili Pepper, Chocolate Bar, Cinnamon Stick) but does not include the others that turn up in a wiki search for "in bulk" (Black Peppercorn, Egg, Thyme Leaf, Vanilla Bean, Walnut).

Removing the bulk foods tag from the former items would improve the wiki in its purpose as a resource for players seeking accurate information about the current state of the game. Adding the bulk foods tag to the latter items would improve the wiki in its purpose of recording all information about the game.

Which is correct? I use the wiki as a game resource and suspect the overwhelming majority of visitors do so as well, so I'm inclined towards removing tags from historical items to make the category pages more useful in that regard. The tags could always be re-added if the item becomes available in game again, since the pages would be being updated anyway. It's not a matter of correct, but as you put it a matter of usefulness. Category:Bulk foods is added to the pages manually with [[Category:Bulk foods]], so adding it to pages where it's missing great, and removing it from historical articles is a common practice to keep categories cleaner.
