Work in Progress?[edit]

This looks like a work in progress so I suspect you've already considered it (apologies if I'm overstepping by editing here), but the warrior trait Empower Allies might be worth considering to help reach the power cap (not sure if it can put you over - does Might?). Obviously Banner of Strength (and maybe Tactics for Might duration and blast finishers) can also help.

Other than that it's worth looking at the % DPS buffs each class has. For example, ranger has +10% damage when endurance is full, +10% damage when attacking from the side and +5% and +10% for the ranger and pets respectively when attacking a target under a control condition. The +x% attack speed traits should also work as DPS boosts, I believe warrior and ranger both have one.

Several rune sets will also give +x% damage and thus are worth bringing. Even if you haven't reached the might cap, I suspect a +x% damage rune would be better anyway (good ones like Strength or Scholar have Power on them anyway) as they usually boost your DPS more than a little bit of extra power. I believe that's how dungeon speed clear groups work - focus on +x% damage buffs from profession traits and rune sets, even at the cost of a little bit of power. Seeing as you're only trying to decap (and thus don't need Ferocity or Precision), Rune of the Flame Legion would be a cheap option for people to invest in. Maintaining 100% burning on the wurm during burn phases should be easy with one or two guardians and you will get +175 Power and +7% damage from the rune. I'm not sure how much DPS the Rock Dog from Ogre Runes does, or how reliable it is (will it attack the wrong thing?) but it could be worth bringing over a 3-6% damage buff from another rune. Rune of the Privateer could also be a cheap underdog there (with +175 Power, +10% Might duration and possible extra DPS from the parrot - it does hit hard). Scholar and Strength are probably optimal but they may not be affordable.

It might also be worth considering optimising weapon sets to bring the highest DPS cleaving melee weapon each profession has.For warrior I suspect it would be axe (maybe swapping to greatsword for 100 blades), ranger is probably sword but I think you would struggle cleaving double damage due to the leap etc.

They are expensive to make, but Bountiful Sharpening Stones would likely be the optimal options due to guarantee 100 Power and 10% Boon Duration.

In some ways the phase one wurm fight is interesting to theorycraft because it can't be crit. That alone dramatically changes the meta, making several runes and abilities more competitive than when they need to compete with Ferocity or Precision. Traveller (talk) 07:15, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Yes, this is a WIP, so not all the details are fleshed out. We haven't started looking into some areas (eg: traits), so some ideas here will definitely make it into our final strategy. I'll go through this in more detail with the team as we come closer to the attempt. But, thanks for your suggestions! They are certainly welcome. Ventaurion (talk) 08:44, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
