are we still able to get this material after Tower of Nightmare event ends? 123.20.152.203 11:15, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

I'm pretty curious about this myself. Considering that it has a spot inside the material collection, I'm guessing there is probably going to be some way or other to keep getting them - or it'll be a recurring event, sort of like how you can find Watchwork Sprocket by fighting Scarlet's minions whenever they appear.
Spores currently also drop from ordinary Nightmare Court enemies (they don't have to be Toxic Alliance), so maybe Anet will leave them on their drop table after Tower of Nightmares is over. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 15:38, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
Halloween and Wintersday materials have bank slots, so that's no guarantee that it will continue to drop. --Felbryn (talk) 16:38, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
Halloween and Wintersday are almost certainly going to come every year, and there's always way more supply of materials than people use up (...mostly...), so trading post prices are still low enough to be reasonable for crafting. You can continue getting Candy Corn from the home instance node every day, too. Spores are a bit different, since the random drop rate is much lower and there's no consistent way to get them without intentionally doing Tower of Nightmares related stuff. Although, come to think of it, they could just leave it as an option at the glory vendor. Not like PvP players have much else interesting to buy. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 18:22, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

offshoots[edit]

Toxic Offshoots are only giving one spore now. I have only killed 4 or 5, at this point. Maybe page should be changed to reflect this? Toxic The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.87.123.93 (talkcontribs).

Well, I guess it's not just me. Poke claims he got 9. Here's my hypothesis that needs testing, but seems likely: the number of spores you get scales with the area. Basically, destroying offshoots in Queensdale is less rewarding than in Kessex. The other question is, what is the scale: the level range, or the proximity to where the tower used to be? Vili 点 User talk:Vili 08:43, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
I got those 9 from an offshot in Queensdale. There goes your theory :P poke | talk 19:16, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
I'm still only getting 1 in Queensdale and Caledon Forest. Are you talking about getting 9 from *a single gathering*, or nine separate gatherings via power of the mists gathering bonus? They're different things. It used to be that you could harvest a node and get multiple spores from that one gather (so you could gather it again, get another 3, etc), but at least wherever I've gone, that does not seem to be the case anymore. You can still get multiple gathers and each of those gathers has a chance of yielding more than 1 spore. I was able to gather a single node 3 times: the first gather gave me 1 spore, the 2nd gather gave me 5 spores, and the 3rd gather gave me 1. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 01:04, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
That was what confused me. In the past, at least from my experience, gathering a node that gave multiples always gave the same number each time. But now it's random every gather. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 04:11, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
I was randomly running around when an offshore event ended; I went to the node, gathered it once and got 9 spores. poke | talk 14:55, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Missing: durmand priory vendor and his items please The preceding unsigned comment was added by 37.170.227.60 (talk).

Which vendor are you referring to? The only toxic-related Priory vendor I could think of is the Mordrem Researcher, but he neither buys nor sells Toxic Spores: it's Mordrem Blooms he wants. --Idris (talk) 20:18, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
