Thinning out the page[edit]

With the recent edits made by User:MrModius, the page is extremely long and links to external sites such as "killproof.me". As the wiki's goal is to document the game, and not unofficial subjects that a particular group of players have created. The standard for pages like this should be to keep them short and not go into unnecessary detail. Also, standard is that we don't link to external sites that have not been directly mentioned or partnered with ArenaNet. Sunlion (talk) 03:27, 4 July 2022 (UTC)

Agreed that it could be streamlined a bit. I think there are excessive mentions of LI, for one. It's probably enough to list those common methods once per category. Additionally, the achievements don't make much sense here except for those that grant a title. I think it's useful to list the boss-specific item drops here (all the raid killproofs, the EoD Strike CM coffers): it's annoying to find all of the possible items from the individual boss pages. It would be nice to reduce the repetition a bit though.
I've also quarantined the "killproof.me" link in a dedicated section: if any other killproof sites come up, they can go there as well, clearly labelled rather than buried throughout the body of the article. Heillos (talk) 08:05, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
"As the wiki's goal is to document the game, and not unofficial subjects that a particular group of players have created" I agree with this point. the current document can cause people's confusion. I think explaining about killproof.me instead of writing the external link is fine, but still, the external link should be removed, I believe. --Targal (talk) 10:47, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
Also, my intention when I created this page was just to explain what KP is for new players simply, not documenting every KP stuff, so I only documented 3 examples, but the current document is too much. --Targal (talk) 10:49, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
I agree that the page should be trimmed down. Kill Proof Tokens column could be easily removed and just mentioned as "guild decoration tokens from bosses can be uses as kill proof". Achievements could be mentioned but I have never seen a group asking for your api key to confirm kill proof - seems cumbersome. With these points eliminated we dont need the tables at all and can just mention the common kill proof items per game mode. Titles can just be mentioned once as a mean of "proof". Additionally I am in favor of removing killproof links. —Kvothe (talk) 13:27, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
I agree with all the points mentioned already. While I am sure everyone here appreciates the work that MrModius had put into it, it is really too excessive and not that much helpful, more like overwhelming, in its current state. ~Sime 13:53, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
The page is pretty well laid out, formatting is good, and content seems correct. tbf with this page, probably people will be looking to a link to the external site, which is provided with sufficient warning. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:55, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
the point is - do we really need to know them? should we find the information here? it's TMI when it's based on unofficial player phenomenon, I think. --Targal (talk) 11:33, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
Hello, I updated this page because I had many players asking exactly what killproof was needed for what, and they said the wiki wasn't telling them. Players ARE looking for this information here and I think it's important that it is. All my edits were in good faith :) As for thinning down the page, it looks like anet has delt with that as LD are being converted to LI and LI itself is effectively being removed as a usable kill proof on Tuesday. Unsure what the community will do to in response to this ands if they will still use killproof.me or whatever like fractals, but I imagine it means the LI columns can be removed if people are only using the trophies. We'll see what happens MrModius (talk) 17:15, 13 July 2022 (UTC)

kp is toxic AF[edit]

Can we get this kind of thing blocked in the game? Or conversely auto block any player that has a kp.me account so we can live life as if those toxic people do not exist? Brassica (talk)
