Missing chests[edit]

doesn't the map miss the chests at the end of some light puzzles ? I think there are at least 3 (raven ruins, hidden tower, labyrinth) Eowin (talk) 15:44, 15 February 2020 (UTC)

Well, so far I haven't added them (let's call them mystery chests for now) for good reason. We are talking about:
Summing up what the diffences between mystery chests and essence chests.
While they do share the same chest model, the mystery chests
  1. have no name hovering over the chest that describes them as essence chests
  2. do not have the "Smash" interact text to open the chest ("Interact" instead)
  3. always reward two Eitrite Ingots, although the north-east (labyrinth) and north-west (raven ruins) have a large chest model (note that large essence chests always rewards 3 Eitrite Ingots). How should these two chests be labelled in the map: large (T3) or medium (T2)?
It still needs to be verified if the mystery chests require an Essence manipulation mastery for opening. This is somehow a hard task, we would need to find someone without the essence manipulation masteries that does the puzzle.
Therefore, my conclusion was that the mystery chests are not essence chests and hence I did not added them to the map. Edit: disproved, see below. --Tolkyria (talk) 18:43, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
P.S. See also Talk:Eitrite Ingot#Light/jumping puzzle reward chests.
Thanks for lengthy answer. It's true they have slight differences, but imho requiring the mastery would be enough to list them as Essence Chests. They also have similar loot, and I guess many people who use the map to find them all (and get Eitrite ingots, for example) might like to see them too. You use white/black markings to show the permanent/meta chests and that's a good idea, I guess you could use a 3rd color to indicate puzzle chests (and also a note to make it clear that they are slightly different, for example because they have 2 ingots regardless of the model).
You know what, I have some alt accounts that can definitely go there and don't have a single Saga mastery unlocked. I'll check that asap ! Eowin (talk) 21:31, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
OK, I can enter the puzzle using tp to friend, I can open the gate using my main account ... but triggering the light orbs dispenser requires a mastery. I'll try to train one and come back later. Eowin (talk) 21:40, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
Added. Make sure to use CTRL + F5 to clear browser cache if the mystery chests aren't showing up. --Tolkyria (talk) 22:34, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
TY ! In the meantime, I did complete a puzzle with an alt account. Had to go through a meta and a while of farming events/mobs to train 2 levels of "Raven Attunement" mastery before I could use lights. Completed Labyrinth. I was able to open the 2 small puzzle chests, but the nameless Essence Chest can't be opened : it's here, it has the "interact [F]", but nothing happens - no matter how hard I press F. There is also no message telling me that I should train masteries before I'm able to open it, contrarily to other "regular" Essence Chests. TL&DR : those puzzle chests do require mastery, just like other Essence Chests Eowin (talk) 22:54, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
Wow, amazing research! Thanks! --Tolkyria (talk) 23:17, 15 February 2020 (UTC)

new locations[edit]

The south "vigilance t1" chest has at least 2 possible locations. User Eowin Vigilance t1 south.png. You can see a group member at the currently known location (no chest) and myself at the new location. @Tolkyria, can you edit the map using your original file ? I'd do it but I'm afraid using the jpg from wiki would lower quality over time (recompress jpg) Eowin (talk) 11:54, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

Added, I was aware that this small vigilance chest can be below or above the ledge, but I didn't know this one to the east. --Tolkyria (talk) 12:33, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
