Literal?[edit]

From "Notes" on the main page: "this tonic actually turns the player into a literal gift box."

The Player is the human person playing the game. Substituting "character" or "avatar" for 'player', this still seems it would not be "Literal".

A literal gift box is opened by the recipient, the gift is removed and the box is discarded, destroyed. I doubt that happens to even the player's character. It may be some time before I can clear up this conundrum from my own experience. --Gold Recluse (talk) 18:18, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

You're correct, player might refer to the actual person playing, changed it to state "character" instead. --Ventriloquist 16:16, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for easing my worries over my mortality. I'm still wondering what the darn thing does in the game, since the Note sounds like it is contradicting something, but it basically says the same as the name of the item. I gotta get to work completing this collection so I can find out. --Gold Recluse (talk) 18:18, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
It turns the character into a huge gift box. Basically, it replaces your character model with a gift box that is able to move (the movement looks a bit like that of a slime–except with a gift instead of a slime). The note is referring to the item description which says that the character is turned into a toy; the gift box not being a toy. poke | talk 20:02, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
It's on my to-do list to finish the collection until Wintersday's finale, so I might grab a screenshot since it looks hilarious. --Ventriloquist 21:24, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
The Note now gives a much clearer explanation of what this tonic does in-game. I'll just blame Rob Lowe for everything "literally." --Gold Recluse (talk) 03:06, 31 December 2014 (UTC)

This gift dropped for me from a normal wintersday gift. I don't know if that is supposed to be possible at all and if it is I guess it is really rare. Just thought I should let you know. 94.245.5.86 09:28, 18 December 2015 (UTC)Kalium
