Wolf bless you, friend.

Wolf? But this is Leopard Hall. What are you doing here?

My wolf companion, Brud, was raised by a snow leopard after his pack was killed. We journeyed here to give thanks.

Tell me Brud's story.

One day, my sister and I spotted new pups emerging from a den near my family's home. We were overjoyed, but then, the mountain shook us to our bones and an avalanche descended over the wolves.

Go on.

Only one survived. My sister and I begged our father to take the pup in, but he refused, saying, "Nature rights itself."

What did you do?

We watched the pup struggle. Father told us this was an important lesson, and he would not let us help. The Spirits had other ideas, though. On the third day, a snow leopard with a cub of her own appeared.

What did the snow leopard do?

She carried the pup off by the scruff of his neck. We feared the worst, but months later, the wolf returned. Gradually, I gained his trust.
