Introduction[edit]
Queensdale is one of the starter maps. In the journey around these lands, you will see two main arcs emerge. The first being about Bandits and the other one being about Centaurs. These two arcs are at the core of the human story. Througout this roadmap I have tried to make the player feels how dangeourous these two factions can be. A huge chunk of the exploration will is also about Ettins.
Map[edit]
Roadmap[edit]
- Starting from the village of Sheamoor you are going to visit the Fields and the Dam before looping back right at the start. You have to cross the bridge. An event can trigger here, involving a roadblock, this could be interesting but we will pass on this bridge again so don't wait for it.
-
- In this first area, you might be interested by doing one of the event at the Windmill (either defending against bandits, or defeating the Worm). There is also a bear threatening a lady near Jeb's Wheatfield. Don't forget to visit the windmill as it is has a very detailed inside. Just south of Jeb's Field, you have another field with three sprinklers, notice that depending if an event is active or not they can water or not. Complete the heart.
-
- Leave the windmill and go to Eda's Orchard. Wait for the spiders event to be active. It will be a good way to complete the heart as well as to learn tab targetting to find the spiders. Complete the heart.
-
- Travel to the dam, grab the vista, and walk along the river. You may find several events there involving harpies, elementals or a drake bloodmother. Do them if they are active. Complete both the fisher's and foreman's hearts !
-
- Going back to Shaemoor, you can pass under one arm of the torrent, and find children that will speak about destiny's edge. It can be interesting to sparkle some wondering about this group for new players.
-
- You will pass through the bridge again, may you encounter the roadblock event if you didn't at the first cross.
-
- Let's now run towards the Pumping Station. If there is an event up there, let's just do it right away. Else, explore the house at the bottom of the hill and to to its basement. There you'll find an entrance to the bandit cave.
-
- Explore further into the cave. The Veteran Bandit Lieutenant can spawn there. I advise you do heart completion in the cave while waiting for the event. In anycase, do as much as you can to earn experience and gain lvl here as the next segment while involve some troubles. You get out of the cave by the northern entrance.
-
- From Mepi's Moa Ranch, make a turn-about by following the trail at the extreme west of the map: The Pinion Trail. You will find a lot of ettins there, and at the level you will be at, they will constitute quite a challenge. Make sure you understand their abalities and you know how to kill them safely before going further up. Indeed Erts Jug, a veteran Ettin, is waiting for you at te end of the road !
-
- Go down the Pinion trail by the zigzag road og Altar's Windings and grab both the vista and waypoint.
-
- Walk along the cliffs south and enter the troll cave. There should be a lot of grubs here, you might want to kill them before facing the veteran troll. If the veteran Troll event is not active, just pick up the Embedded Troll Runestone to make it spawn. Considering your current level, you might consider bringing an ally, although it can be done alone if you know what you are doing.
-
- Now we are going back the Sheamoor. To that purpose, cross the Bar Curtis Ranch, grab the hero point just nort and get up the hill on the green slope. If the Altar Brook Crossing event is active, you may want to help defending the tower or help while it is rebuilt. You will have another chance to do this event chain.
-
- At the top of the hill, you are now back to Dalin's Pumping Station. You might have a chance to catch a new event here ! Grab the vista while you're at it.
-
- Get at the foot of the Pumping Station and follow the waterway. Bypass Shaemoor Garrison by south and return to the mainland along the green slope towards Windloss Delves and Ojon's Lumbermill.
-
- There is a skritt cave near the Lumbermill. Do the associated event chain and help Mikhart destroy the skritt cave support. STAY IN THE CAVE while the NPCs runs away.
-
- Fortunately, there is another way out of the skritt cavern, and it allows you to get near Chhk. You know ? The Windmill King, Chhk.
-
- When done, go back to the Queen's Forest. You can do heart completion while waiting for the Queen Wasp, or carry on with your adventure by hiking through the forest until you find the Hunting Lodge.
-
- Wait for the Giant Boar event while doing heart completion.
-
- Head north, perhaps will you be lucky enough to find a bandit leader accross the river. Do not attempt to kill him on your own. Try map chat if nobody seems to come around.
-
- Now you swim. You swim west. You get to the land and pay attention to the foot of the cliff. You want to find a door guarded by bandits and enter this.
-
- In Beggar's Burrow, rampage then steal valuables in the Splendid Chest. Depending on how many events and hearts you have completed before, this can be a bit of a challenge.
-
- Get out of the Burrow by the upper entrance, and meet some new players that are trying to find their way in...
-
- You are now in a cemetery. It is a good time to learn about... Time. Type /time in your chat and find out the current time in Tyria. A full 24h in game is equivalent to 2h in real world. Day if from 6:00 to 20:00, and night from 21:00 to 5:00. Intervals are for Dusk and Dawn. One hour in Tyrian time is 5 minutes real world. If you are there at around 18:00, find and speak to the Priest of Grenth in the Cemetery, then wait for night to come and do the Lady in White event.
-
- Now is time to get a bit of nostalgie and come back in the Shaemoor Garrison where you did your first steps in the game as a human. If you can get the Barthol event, good for you !
-
- Go to Altar Brook Trading Post. Two events can trigger here, I advise to wait for one or the other. The first is the one you may already have done when you first went by Altar Brook Crossing, involving Centaurs. The other is an escort to Claypool.
-
- When you arrive at Claypool, eventually grab the waypoint and head towards Duran Brother's Docks. Ensure you have underwater weapons ahead of doing the following. You can speak to Ine and volunteer for collecting grub remains, collect them and come back with her at the docks. A veteran Barracuda will spawn, kill it.
-
- Now you want to look at the timer for Behemoth on wiki using "/wiki timer" in chat. Depending on how much time you have, do heart completion in Claypool, then in the Heartwoods. Do the event chain at Heartwood Camp and grab the waypoint. Then head a bit north, and do the Corrupted Veteran Oakheart event. You can also visit the Ettin cave which contains a lot of copper ores and a veteran. If there is still time to pass, go towards Altar Brook Trading and do the scales eggs event.
-
- In any case, you want to be chilling and spawning emotes at Greatheart Weald five minutes before the Behemoth Timer. Gather some people. Portals from the underworld will spawn, destroy them and the creatures that went through. When done, everybody will most likely go east using badass mounts that you don't own. Don't mind those cavalier people, and just wait for another portal to spawn that you will be able to interact with to TELEPORT strait to the right place.
-
- Have fun with Behemoth. You will most likely be underleveled so stay where most people are and do not flit around from underworld portal to underworld portal or you will end six feets under.
-
- After the world boss, grab the point of interest and vista, then head north to the Eldvin Monastery point of interest.
-
- Now, go and grab the waypoint and the vista nearby. As well as Kappa's Corral point of interest. Two escort events, from which you want to do either one or the other, start in this area. The Moa's one starts by herding the pygmy moas in the pen after speaking to Moa Trainer Kappa. The carnival caravan start directly after interacting with Charice. I would personnally prefer the Moa's one if available as it involves the Moas dancing in Beetletun at the end if you follow the NPC.
-
- Once in Beetletun, you can leave by the west entrance openning on a small lake. I suggest to roads to follow depending on your will. The road going top is more in line with the objective of doin heart event, the bottom one is fun as it makes you pass within the pipe.
-
- The rest of the pass in the south-west zone is related to the Meta Event Battle for Beetletun. Follow the road or do whatever is up. This Meta event only gets interesting if it fails and it does not happen very often in my experience which is why I do not consider it very important to wait for it at all.
-
- Just make sure you visit the Demongrub Pits by finding a not so well hidden entrance.
-
- Also use the "/threaten" emote in front of the door at the very south to enter Bonegrinder's Gully. Note that this point of interest will unlock anyway without entering, but the veteran Troll is cool to fight!
-
- Make your way back to Eldvin Monastery. There do the Brew shipment event chain (it starts with driving back the centaurs befor ethey steal the monastery's ale) then continue at the south entrance of the monastery. The Brew shipment will lead you to Swamplost Haven.
-
- Your journey is now ended on this map. You can quit through the portal in Swamplost Haven !
-END-
End Note[edit]
Do forget to return sometimes in the future to complete eventual puzzle jumps you skipped and properly finish map-completion (some things will undoubtedbly miss such as hearts and hero points), and to get some memories or you first steps on Tyria !
