Issues for future suggestions[edit]

[Please place comments in the relevant section.]

Fix targeting problems[edit]

Improve usability of marks placement[edit]

Stop obscuring 'M' map details with paintbrush effect[edit]

Excessive contested waypoints in Orr[edit]

Place useful info in unused part of top line[edit]

Profession is easily inferred from your skillbar. Level is already shown in the bottom-left corner. Current area name is shown when you hover on the mini-map.

I agree that map completion data needs to be more easily accessible, but I'd think it would work better as an extension of the mini-map.

How do you decide which waypoints to list? The closest ones? That wouldn't work for me, as I always prefer walking to nearby locations.

This space is used in WvW and sPvP, so they can't really do anything about the empty space in PvE. Personally, I prefer the very clean interface we have now - filling up empty space with clutter "just because" isn't good design. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 13:06, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

The whole point of an informative top line is to not need to hover over anything nor to infer anything, it's just there directly. You're right about level though, that's visible directly already in the bottom line. I'll remove level from my text. "Clutter" is undesirable, but useful information is highly desirable. A balance is best.
Regarding which waypoints to display, I've changed this to "most used" now, which should work for everybody whether they prefer to walk to local places or not. I've also suggested an alternative which reduces the waypoints displayed in the top line to just one. Morgaine 00:48, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

Why not post?[edit]

The official forums are a lot easier to navigate than this page is. ANet reads the suggestions -- it doesn't really matter if you or I can sort through posts as long as they (Anet) get a chance to see some of the ideas out there. It's clear from changes made in the game that this happens.

Some of your suggestions are quite interesting and worth the time to post so that ANet has a chance to see them. What I have hoped that you would do is to post each of your suggestions on the official forums and then post the links here -- best of both worlds. That way, it's possible for people to comment in an organized manner, it's possible for ANet to see them, and it's for casual contributors easier to navigate. You can also link from the forums back here, in case you want to leave a tl;dr on the forums and use the better formatting tools available on the wiki for the more nuanced details.

You've obviously spent a lot of time thinking about issues and potential solutions, so I have trouble understanding why you want to hide your suggestions deep in the wiki. It's your choice, but I hope you change your mind. 75.36.181.195 19:22, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for your feedback. I'll think about this some more, and I might well follow your suggestion, at least in part. Certainly it's pointless to hide feedback such as the Addendum comment at the end of my Make drops on corpses more visible section. That's not helpful, and it doesn't report to them what may be a simple developer's mistake, so I take your point. Morgaine 09:34, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
Great. If you do change your mind, I look forward to taking part in a public discussion about them. Thank you for taking the time to reply while you decide. 75.36.181.195 09:48, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
