Update size[edit]

Please do not add update sizes to the update notes. Because of how GW2.exe manages and updates the GW2.dat file, these may vary really a lot from person to person, and the resulting GW2.dat file may increase more or less than any numbers anyone would give. Some people can get quite paranoid about update sizes when they do not match, thinking stuff like they got a virus or failed to download some files, so it's better to simply avoid update size numbers altogether. 81.38.241.147 20:03, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

That's fine, I won't add size in the future then. I didn't actually add the update size, but changed the unit of data from mb (millibit) to MB (megabyte), and I added a space. Jatyrael 20:09, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

updating images[edit]

When you upload a new version of an image but don't see it immediately, please do not immediately revert or re-upload your image - it has been saved to the server. Either your browser or the wiki (or both) still have the original image cached, and the cached version hasn't been updated with your new image yet. Hit Ctrl+R or Ctrl+F5 to force your browser to clear its cache for the page, then click on the "refresh" tab at the top of the page to clear the wiki's cache. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 14:00, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

I sort knew that, but I wanted to remove and reupload the image to add comments + copyright information. I am new to that part of the wiki (file uploading) so I made mistakes. Thanks for trying teach me how to wiki :) Jatyrael 15:32, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
You can edit the file page to add comments and tags, don't have to do it through the image upload.--Relyk ~ talk > 15:35, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Trying to do that on the upload form won't work when you're uploading over an existing image, anyway. The "License" field does absolutely nothing, and anything you enter in the "Summary" field only gets stored in the "Comment" field for that version, it won't actually change the file page. I don't know why the wiki even shows those inputs when the file page already exists. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 16:04, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
