I used Paint when I did our current one from an in game screenshot, but it had been much better if I could have chosen to show my characters on the shot or not, but as far as I know no one can avoid getting their ego on it. I hate it. So trying to use a screenshot from the game gets into find suitable angles and crop them afterwards to best get the panorama format as I used.
