Hi there community, Before you start reading this endless script by me, I'd like to take time to ask how you are, and to say that I am always about, so just leave me a message on my talk page, which is right...... Here, and I'll be sure to get straight back to you! If I've bored you already, this is your chance to turn away, before you have to endure me actually sharing my opinions.

Monday 27th June[edit]

Where to begin?..... Ummm, we'll go from the beginning. I am a Guild Wars 1 player, and my main characters were Fang the Unknown, and Fang the Almighty. Fang the Unknown was my dervish, and I spent a long time trying to make this character strong, but after getting black primeval, I lost interest and Fang the Almighty became my main character. This character was an ele, and a strong one too - I had a good team build and strong friends, so I spent endless hours vanquishing and doing other HM(Hard mode) stuff. But, alas, none of this will be coming into GW2. No more vanquishing. No more team builds, or HM (as far as I know!). But you know what they say, every cloud has a silver lining, in this case it is a vast world, with many different races and classes, and a massive combination of skills.

Personally, I am most excited about the Sylvari race. I think it is great to add such mystery to a game, especially a sequel. It is for this reason I have made two of my character slots in GW1 to "Sylvari Wind" and "Sylvari Shadow". The reason for this? Arenanet have promised that our GW1 names will be reserved in GW2, and I quite like these names. Obviously, I will use the Wind name for a Sylvari Elementalist (Air mage as the dominant affinity) and the Shadow name for a thief. This brings me nicely onto the second thing I am most excited about in GW2 - the thief. Now I have heard players complaining about it just being a rip from the GW assassin, but I do not believe this to be true. The only similarities I can see are Shadow Stepping and the favour for stealth over force (oh, and the use of daggers, but lots of classes can use those.)

As for the other races and classes, I will probably make a Char warrior, a Norn ranger and a human guardian - but this leads me onto one FAQ that I end up asking myself a lot. How many character slots will we be given in GW2? I am hoping for at least 6, and with the massive amounts of combinations available with races and classes, I am sure Arenanet will understand the players need to try them all out. While I speak about concerns, I was not at all happy with the release of the engineer - dropping turrets, using flamethrowers and explosives. It seems such a.... dishonorable way to fight, as there is very little chance for the player to take damage. But, of course, I might be wrong - there hasn't been an excessive amount of information released for any of the classes, so it could turn out that it is my favourite upon release, in which case, I will quickly redeem these words and replace them with suitable praise. But in my honest opinion, I can't see it happening, sorry to all the fans of the engineer.

And while I am voicing my worries about GW2, I will also talk about guns. Now I don't mind the introduction of guns and rifles into GW2, in fact, I think its a welcome change from the pace of GW1. My concern actually lies within the players. All the shoot 'em up console players will make their character, and by default, begin using guns (yeah, a stereotype, sorry to those decent players). I can just forsee PvP being warriors (for their extremely high defense and hp) using rifles in a stalemated long range fight. And the same for PvE. I can only hope that the rifles either have a suitably low fire rate, or damage. I don't want to see them gone, I just really really don't want to run around a map hearing gun shots as people spam their skills (which, I imagine, doesn't require much skill to use for a rifle).

So thats it for my current thoughts, if you want to discuss anything I have said, just say something in my user talk, and we can chat, even if it is to disagree with me.

All the best, -Gale
