Talk:The Rescue

This story part (and everything after it) aren't on the "human personal story" box, even though said box is at the bottom of this page. Similarly, how are we going to do branching stories in that thing? We obviously have the three columns for our first three storylines, but this chapter is itself part of a decision between saving Quinn and saving the well - and each has its own chapter. Impossible for level 8 thief[edit]

I cannot believe how difficult this quest is for a level 8 thief. I am level 13 and the stupid quest forces me down to level 8. The knockdowns are so hard and so fast, it's impossible to hurt this guy.24.8.249.129 03:18, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

Same here, I hardly scratch him. 85.19.140.9 19:52, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

Finally beat him. I had to level up to 16 (Kessex area is good for leveling up), get the best weapons and armor (with upgrades), buy an adept trait manual and apply the trait points. When the instance forces me down to level 8, I cannot see any reduction in the weapons' attributes on the hero panel. I used poison, and lots and lots of dodging and running away, but not too far away or else he will almost instantly regenerate full health. Pull, run, dodge. Set your self-heal to autocast. Use the best sword possible with an offhand dagger. After he dies, several small groups of baddies will spawn between the barn and the exit point. Dispatch each group (Quinn will help). If Quinn dies, you can revive him. If you die, you can continue the quest where you died. Bring some instant repair canisters to repair your armor after defeating Crusher Dan. This is definitely an unbalanced quest. Crusher Dan is not like any other level 10 that I've encountered. He is more like a level 15 with speed, damage, and recovery.24.8.249.129 20:53, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

I agree with you. This game is cheating on the players. I don't mind a good fight, but then be honest about it and mention the thief as a veteran or champion bandit. Don't make it appear as an ordinary lvl 8 thief. The same later on for killing doc. She shoots like a lvl 20-25 bandit. Marga Light of Isis

I've just beaten him at level 8 using a short bow, crippling shot, Clusterbomb, Poison Cloud and circle strafing. Just keep your distance and keep moving. 23 Nov 2012 Bigvinni71
