Shadow Behemoth appears to operate like any other, where looting the chest is what dings. I can't confirm it's unnecessary to be in ghostly form while the boss dies though, because I was in ghostly form. Gartner (talk) 16:08, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

Shadow Behemoth needs to be killed in ghostly form, had killed him several times without it and no progress. It is not necessary to loot the chest, however, as the achievement registers on death (I had autoloot off and looted the chest afterward). Tyrene (talk) 19:54, 16 July 2022 (UTC)
I think this explains why I did not get credit for the Urban Battleground fractal despite being ghostly before looting the chest; I was not ghostly before killing the final boss. Perhaps, despite the text, the final boss must always be killed in ghostly form. 174.65.202.155 14:45, 22 December 2022 (UTC)
