What is Gorseval exactly? I'm trying to figure it out but I have no clues. --Louise (talk) 07:52, 5 December 2015 (UTC)

He's what happens when all the angry spirits in Spirit Vale get together to fight. Seylan (talk) 08:39, 5 December 2015 (UTC)

Official skill names?[edit]

Not sure if it's meant to be called Ghastly Prison or Egg Encasement. Ghastly Prison is what the Spectral Prison mechanic is referred to in the patch notes https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-December-15-2015. Is there a particular way to tell when fighting it or are the skill names just given from achievements/dev sources? Seylan (talk) 16:12, 17 December 2015 (UTC)

Use the combat log?--Relyk ~ talk < 16:13, 17 December 2015 (UTC)
Thing is it's called by a lot of things ingame. The actual physical prisons are Spectral Prison. I haven't looked at the combat log damage from them to see what the damage effect is called. The patch notes refers to the mechanic as Ghastly Prison. Seylan (talk) 16:21, 17 December 2015 (UTC)
He also has an aura effect called Haunting Aura which periodically pulses damage. Seylan (talk) 16:23, 17 December 2015 (UTC)

Effect icons[edit]

Not sure why they're not updating... Seylan (talk) 00:57, 27 January 2016 (UTC)

Missing Spectral Darkness etc[edit]

@Darqam: You're missing Spectral Darkness - effect applied when you run into an orb. As well, check the skill names vs. Combat Log and patch notes if you haven't already. There appear to be some inconsistencies? Eg. I don't think Egg Encasement is called that but Spectral Prison. Not sure if the updrafts mechanics should be on this page either. -Seylan 118.209.165.109 05:25, 25 February 2016 (UTC)

oh damn, forgot about the orbs... will check that later. As for the eggs, I'll look into it; that was there before and had assumes it was correct; will verify -Darqam (talk) 13:13, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
Ok, added missing stuff, plus I added a 'Special Mechanics' section to talk quickly about the walls and orbs. Since both are not technically Gorseval, but an integral part of his encounter; I figured they belonged somewhere. -Darqam (talk) 02:26, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
Awesome job :) Seylan (talk) 02:50, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

Where does Gorseval get its Regen?[edit]

Gorseval gets regen from somewhere, I am not sure where though. I think it is from people getting hit by the prison skill? Janitsu (talk) 20:57, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
