Downed?[edit]

There appears to be conflicting information in regards to this skill's status. Firstly, in the list of warrior skills, there are already 4 downed skills mentioned. GW2G mentions this skill as a utility skill which is contradictory to what the people at gamona.de have to say. I will rewrite it with the more recent info (not a downed skill). If anyone could shed some light on this, that'd be excellent. Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 23:50, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

Both Warrior and Guardian skill?[edit]

I find it weird that this skill appears in the list of warrior skills as well as in the list of guardian skills. Is this a skill which is exclusive to both soldiers or is there a simple difference between the two just because one of them has a "!" in it's name?? If last is the case then hurray for creativity. --87.154.237.110 14:29, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Weird, the Warrior skill redirects here. --AdventurerPotatoe User AdventurerPotatoe sigimage.gif - 15:16, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
It's a mistake. In the 2010 demo, the skill name had a ! and it was a warrior skill. Now it's a guardian skill without !. All references for the warrior should be removed. Chriskang 15:34, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Retreat forward?[edit]

It's me or the effect of this skill is perfect to charge into enemy lines mitigating the damage of the upcoming projectiles? Lokheit 03:21, 22 May 2011 (UTC)

Of course. There'll be many skills to use in different situations then they seem to have been made for. Why? When faced in though/random situations, people tend to improvise for greater achievements. Some leap/evade/jump skills can and will be used in both defensive and attacking situations. Roll for Initiative for example, can be used to barrelroll towards a particular enemy, obviously decreasing distance. Ge4ce-Talk-Contribs 08:13, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
Besides that, this skills has 80 seconds recharge. So it'll be used more then once in long lasting fights. Ge4ce-Talk-Contribs 08:14, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
I guess the title of the skill could be seen as a bit misleading. Whereas the original 'Retreat!' [1] skill in GW1 required dead allies to be in earshot, this requires no sort of negative condition in which a retreat would normally be used. Kaloce 10:03, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
Fallback would be a better name for it, as it has more in common with the GW1 version of the skill than it does with Retreat, and the Guardian itself has more in common with the Paragon than it does the Warrior too. Nobody ever used Retreat in GW1 anyway, whereas Fallback was pretty common and people are more likely to remember it and then make the link anyhow. 82.11.226.30 20:41, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
This skill should be named "Assemble!" Sounds better than cowering, the boons still fit as if the soldiers quickly fall into formation and hold their shields forward and it's a tribute to the Avengers, like other Guardian skills
I find myself using this as either a transportation skill (nice long swift duration) or as an extra AoE Aegis (especially since I'm traited into aegis healing when removed). Either way it's definitely ironic to hear my charr shouting "Retreat!" and then running right into the middle of the skirmish. Perhaps if the duration of swiftness was impacted by your current HP (or similar boosting when the battle is going poorly) this would make more sense. Then again, this actually does somewhat closely resemble the effects of "Fall Back!" from GW1, so who knows. 160.109.104.44 16:14, 6 September 2012 (UTC) Kupek

Aegis or Protection?[edit]

Does this skill provide pegis or protection? I've been seeing talk on guru that it's protection and not aegis. Kind of wrecks "Hold the Line!" if it does actually provides protection. :/ BlakDoxa 18:27, 25 February 2012 (UTC)

If used without entering combat[edit]

The cooldown should be reduced by half. :D --JunBerry 05:15, 7 October 2012 (UTC)

What is the actual cooldown of this skill? (not the ammo recharge time)[edit]

And what will this cooldown become when traited with Pure of Voice? --202.190.110.187 13:24, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

It's listed on the page already as 5s recharge (see the right side with the skill itself) and Pure of Voice has a list of all the changes (4s) Dak393 (talk) 13:58, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
