Even though my brother is...gone, his dream is mine. Eparch will see that Deimos and I are truly the same. I am just as capable.

Cerus

Cerus, the Glaive of House Nephus is a Kryptis Lord from Nayos, the Realm of Dreams.[1] He is the brother of Deimos and Peitha, and the mate of Heitor, their cousin.[2] Eager to prove himself to be as capable a warrior as his brother under the eyes of the Midnight King Eparch, Cerus intends to hunt his greatest quarry yet.

Biography[edit]

Early years[edit]

Lonely Tower Fractal[edit]

Shortly after the Astral Ward's founding in 604 AE, Deimos took part in the Kryptis' invasion attempt targeting the Wizard's Tower. Eparch himself led the push into the tower alongside Cerus and Deimos. During the assault, Deimos and his brother Cerus killed the Wizard Vass before being forced back into Nayos. The assault also led to the death of Akeem and culminated in Isgarren and Eparch's second confrontation. Isgarren and his allies were able to force the Midnight King and the Kryptis back into Nayos despite the tower sustaining heavy damage in the ensuing clash.

Trivia[edit]

  • Cerus's name was first revealed in the press preview of the expansion.[1]
  • The name may be derived from Cerus, the masculine Latin version of Ceres the Goddess of Agriculture and Fertility. The name stems from Proto-Indo-European *ḱerh₃-os ('nourishment, grain'), a derivative of the root *ḱerh₃- ('to feed').
