Question for you, these items you're marking as "discontinued", did you complete the collection or are you working on the collection and they're not giving you the item? If it's the former, than that's probably intended, if it's the latter it's a bug. - Doodleplex 23:55, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

It doesn't affect unlocking the relevant part of the collection. But the item is no longer produced, and thus not obtainable. I believe that is intended, and not a bug, but the items are still gone from the game. 76.253.2.43 00:07, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
We only marked things as "discontinued" if their intended method is no longer available to anyone, but the item itself is still in the game and hasn't been completely removed: in this case it's not discontinued, as other players can still obtain it via the collection. If you could in fact still obtain the item, as is the case with a few legendary collection items, then that should be stated in the notes section of the page. - Doodleplex 00:18, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
You can't obtain the items anymore, I thought I made that clear. An unlock is not an item. 76.253.2.43 00:24, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
Some collection unlocks are items that are immediately deleted upon acquisition, so you never see it enter your inventory, but the item still exists. The wiki is in the habit of documenting such items as obtainable-but-immediately-consumed, since it's useful for people to know that the unlock is still available. By adding discontinued to these items, you might confuse people into thinking they can't even unlock them. --Idris (talk) 00:30, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
Well, I was confused into thinking there were still items to be obtained, but as long as there is a clarification on this point that's fine. 76.253.2.43 00:34, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
Clarification is always good! Feel free to add a note to the article if the item's description (shows up at the top of the page) doesn't make its immediately-consumed nature clear. :) --Idris (talk) 00:37, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
I think that falls on the person reverting my edits. I did my part and I'm not going to edit war with admins who enjoy abusing their privileges without seeking compromise. 76.253.2.43 00:41, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
Let's not make assumptions about other editors' motivations. Most of us are here because we want to improve the wiki, and just because we sometimes disagree with each other on how to accomplish that doesn't mean we don't mean well. I was not suggesting that you do someone else's work for them; I was encouraging you to go ahead with the very compromise that you suggested. --Idris (talk) 00:55, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
Excuse the IP, but I've been here long enough to know how some regulars work, enough to state (IMO) that improving the wiki is not the top item on their list and that has been the case since well before GW2. I would also note that I didn't make any particular suggestion, just a willingness to compromise. The other editor did make a specific suggestion, which she did not implement herself in reverting my edits (which she did before we had finished any discussion), implying that if I wanted to improve the wiki, I would have to do the work of making the presentation of that info acceptable to her personally. She straight up removed information rather than reformat it. I'm not interested in pursuing this, I've volunteered as much of my time as I care to. I already learned this information on my own, so it being missing doesn't affect me anymore. It only hurts the wiki and others seeking information for admins to continue behaving in this manner. 76.253.2.43 01:41, 12 October 2017 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I've added notes clarifying what you meant. Thanks! --Imry (talk) 02:29, 12 October 2017 (UTC)

My apologies anon, I thought you meant that you had the item and you couldn't get a second one, not that it never entered your inventory. However, it's exactly as Idris said, adding "discontinued" would be misleading for other viewers, hence why I removed it and initially added a verify tag until you said it wasn't bugged, so adding the note at the bottom, as Imry did, is all that was needed to be done to make it clear to others. I am slightly confused on how you viewed that I abused my admin privileges, I'm fairly sure the only thing I edit I did that you can't do was move a file, but that's because you're a not a registered user, the rest of the edits(actually the majority of my edits had little to do with yours) anybody could have done, so if you could clarify that, I'd be grateful. - Doodleplex 04:57, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
