It's time for me to part ways with TTS.

It's something that I've occasionally considered over the last few months, but a recent event made me realize this is the right decision to make.

I recently did something that was the most fun I've ever had in GW2. What was the next immediate thing on my mind? Inform the TTS GW2 council that there was a potential issue they needed to deal with. The initial elation was quickly followed by apprehension, unease, and dread. Let me rephrase that in case it wasn't clear. I went out to have fun. Because I was successful at having fun, I have to report back to my guild leaders and await potential reprimands. That makes zero sense.

I wasn't sure what reaction I'd get when my fellow leaders found out. Condemnation? Support? I was mentally prepared for either. What I got, however, was far worse and unexpected: a resounding indifference. That's a pretty good indication that the fun, at least for me, is long gone.

Of course, there are other reasons for my departure. However, I'm going to keep this brief and just point to the above as sufficient cause.

Update[edit]

It looks like history is repeating itself. Going to record events here as I experience them.

5/2/15
I notice a TTS leader (ex-TTS councilor) commanding at Amber at EG's wurm kill. Two players were assigned to block, but this TTS leader had no problems with that. The full kill was achieved. Multiple players received ascended-rarity drops. I notify a TTS councilor of this event. I inform him that EG leaders have repeatedly and publicly stated that they don't consider faceblocking to be an exploit, and have no issues using that technique. I also remind him that this situation is similar to what happened with me about half a year ago. I was asked to stop all external (to TTS) activities related to faceblocking.
5/9/15
A week later, the same setup occurs with the same TTS leader. A full kill is achieved. At this point I realize multiple TTS leaders are officially part of the EG guild. I attempt to follow up with the same TTS councilor, but did not receive a response. At this point I stress that the decision regarding my actions was reached within two days of the initial reporting. It has been a week since my first report. I wonder why action hasn't been taken yet.
5/15/15
Asked another councilor about the issue, who agreed to bring it up during a meeting.
5/16/15
Same TTS leader leading at Amber at EG spawn. One player was assigned to block at Amber, but due to miscommunication, was moved to Cobalt instead. The full kill did not happen due to commander miscommunication.
Followed up with a TTS councilor later that day, who promised it will be dealt with the next day.
5/20/15
Presumably the issue has been dealt with. The player in question is still a TTS leader though.
5/23/15
Still going on...

Anet finally comments on blocking[edit]
