This achievement is extremely buggy and is currently not working as intended. However, there is a workaround.
- Avoid the two sets of traps as normal.
- After you have powered up the map (the mission objective will read “Meet back up with your group”), go back and deliberately get hit by the 2nd set of traps.
- Walk back into the room where you met Taimi. The achievement should trigger for some bizarre reason.
I got my achievement this way. Credit to Zaxares.5419 on the support forum (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Avoid-Traps-achievement-1) - this is the first explanation that made sense and worked on the first try.
