Mistburned Barrens: Hazardous Research is an adventure in Mistburned Barrens in which the player has to gather bloodstone samples for Researcher Vixx.
Getting there[edit]
From Alliance Staging Ground move south through South Barrens and make your way to The Laboratory. The Garden of the Unseen is directly south.
Mechanics[edit]
Use your mounts to collect bloodstone samples from Bloodstone Piles and toss them back to Researcher Vixx using the special skill Throw Diminished Bloodstone. The samples are located in the area at different elevations so use your warclaw (or skyscale if available) and the upstreams to move around. You do not need to return to Researcher Vixx but can throw from a wide distance, even when mounted. Make sure to target properly in order for a sample to count. The sample may get obstructed even though the target circle is green, so observe the trajectory to plan for a clean throw and keep track of the count since there are only 16 bloodstone piles in total.
Targeting Researcher Vixx and having the Snap Ground Target to Current Target option checked can help you avoid missing a throw when you're close to him. But if you're standing on a ledge high above him (too far to specifically target the NPC), this option will target your feet instead of allowing you to toss a sample nearly straight down, so it can make the higher samples more difficult to return.
