This has to be at least 300% better than our current image, any objections to putting this directly on Sotzz the Scallywag? Or is there some reason we haven't done that already? -- Dagger (talk) 20:43, 20 September 2016 (UTC)

I'm not sure what the blue lines mean, and it looks like there are some dot on this map that the other one doesn't have and vice versa. I'd say double check to see which map has the barrels right first before moving anything. - Doodleplex 20:51, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
The arrows are "run here for an optimum-ish route". Ugh @ mismatched dots. It's possible our current map is just outdated though, those spawns have definitely been changed at least once. -- Dagger (talk) 20:55, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
This is map kind of old as well(over a year and a half), and should be checked regardless to see if either maps barrels are up to date. The only other difference is that our map is fully zoomed in, this image isn't, and I think the wiki prefers zoomed in maps, so if this map is correct it might need to be tweaked anyway. - Doodleplex 21:03, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
You're welcome to use this image directly under Sotzz the Scallywag (just curious, how did you find it?). I created it as supplemental material for this guide, which is very outdated but occasionally useful. When I created this image, I scoured the entire map for barrels so I am pretty confident all barrels are accounted for and that there are no extra barrels. However, if the barrel spawns did change recently, you might not want to use this image. Up to the beginning of this year (2016), I was actively hunting Sotzz and found no errors with this map. I was looking through all uses of {{UTC time}} on the wiki, and User:Ventaurion/SoloInfluenceFarming uses it.
I managed to find two barrels not marked on this map (one at the well in Applenook Hamlet and one directly south of it), and there's also often more or fewer barrels than there should be (but there's massive disagreement between both the two maps and in-game so I'm just going to assume the amount of barrels at a spot is random or something). But other than that it looks fine. The lower resolution is a thing, but it's still a decent resolution, and being too large is actually mildly annoying for this map because you can't see enough of it at once (although that's easily fixed with your browser zoom controls, of course). The JPEG artefacts are more annoying to me. -- Dagger (talk) 17:46, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
It sounds like you've found some barrel locations in-game that aren't on my map... so at this point I wouldn't trust it to be 100% accurate anymore. The number of barrels at a location is definitely random. It's the locations themselves that's more important to get right. As for image quality... that wasn't something I cared about at all about when I made it. I literally just took a few screenshots, stitched them together in MS paint, and added dots/arrows.
