Need to add new guild puzzle waypoint[edit]

A new waypoint was added with Feb 26, 2013 Update, called Langmar Estate. --Alad 04:00, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

Done. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 04:14, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
Looks nice. And subdividing the maps like that is very useful. Can't be easy though, since you'd have to go there with a character that's never been there before? Hell of a lot of work... Or did Anet supply the boundary overlay? --Alad 11:07, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
I thought I'd explained this somewhere already that I could link to, but can't find it now. Anyway, yes, I took a new character and run her through the entire PvE world, taking screenshots of every new area as she uncovered them. I used uMod (successor of TexMod) to repaint the map's background in solid magenta, to make the edge detection easier. Then I had to stitch the screenshots together in Inkscape, one area at a time, and draw out that area's border. When that was done, I used uMod again to clean up the map (remove the cloud overlay, hide the interface, replace contested icons with standard icons, etc.), screenshot the whole bloody thing, and stitch together a basemap in GIMP. Finally, I overlaid the SVG borders on the BMP map and exported JPGs for every single area.
Yes, it was a lot of work. Exploring the world took over a month. Creating the SVG took another month, and creating the final JPGs took 10 days (because I was on vacation for a week, would've been another month otherwise). —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:54, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
I would give you a couple of legendaries just for this work, if I were Anet. :D Heroic effort. Missing just one piece would have meant having to re-level another character... Gratz mate. (PS: Wouldn't Anet have given their wiki an overlay with the boundaries?) --Alad 16:02, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
No, they're selfish with their artwork requests. Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:00, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
MISSING HEARTS FIX PLZ, ONLY 16 when there are 18. Sorry for caps but I'm raging. 96.254.233.61 02:38, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
Hey, these maps aren't easy to make. :/ —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 02:51, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
You can blame User:Dr ishmael for not updating these pages constantly and therefore end up looking weird.--Relyk ~ talk < 03:01, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

Waypoint got moved[edit]

Waypoint at Lake Feritas got moved. You can see the difference at the picture i updated at Strum Bassclash if you update it here it should also be updated at Lake Feritas - Sonea Elder (talk) 15:08, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

Vault Waypoint removed[edit]

The Vault waypoint does not exist anymore.

The current map shows 19 waypoints, but the ingame map shows only 18. The wiki page about Old Duke's Estate (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Old_Duke's_Estate) is up to date though. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.219.185.100 (talkcontribs) at 03:12, 4 October 2016 (UTC).

You're right. I'll updated this map later today, thanks for the reminder! =) - Doodleplex 07:22, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
Fixed it, thank you! User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 13:25, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Changed Borders[edit]

At some point they changed some borders between Martyr's Woods, Agnos Gorge and The Toppled Wall. The POI "Deadgod's Lair" is now in Martyr's Woods, so are the events starting there.--Aylia (talk) 22:03, 20 July 2018 (UTC)

I expect the borders were always as you describe, these maps are ancient; using hand-drawn boundaries based on guesswork from a retired user's screenshots.
We have the API now so we can redraw it. I've done the sector svg file, I just need to assemble a jpeg to use as a base map. I'll do this sometime this weekend. (updated Agnos Gorge's red+black locator map in the meantime. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:59, 20 July 2018 (UTC)
Actually you're dead right, at some point the area names moved, so they must have revised the boundaries. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 07:07, 21 July 2018 (UTC)
Yes, they changed some of the levels you get scaled down to, too. I only remember it, because I did some work on the german wiki at this time, changing mostly everything I documented a week before :D--Aylia (talk) 21:23, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
