I'm not sure which gives it away more, the throwing weapon, the shuriken, the tabi, or the looks... -~=Ϛρѧякγ User Sparky, the Tainted guided sig.png (τѧιк) 22:21, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

And the ogre with the sword in his crotch looks vaguely like a necromancer. --Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig.png (Talk) 22:40, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Then again, maybe just a head-hunter. --Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig.png (Talk) 22:46, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
I think that's just a monster, and monsters aren't necessarily any profession. Not that I doubt necromancers returning. :P -~=Ϛρѧякγ User Sparky, the Tainted guided sig.png (τѧιк) 01:57, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I suppose. Just got excited because the armor looks slightly necro-ish and it has skulls...but it also looks ranger-ish...never mind though. Still chuckle every time I notice the sword in its crotch. --Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig.png (Talk) 03:22, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
"Is that an axe or are you just happy to see me?";)--Corsair@Yarrr 04:30, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Haha, I still can't believe A-Net posted this picture. I bet they did it on purpose. -~=Ϛρѧякγ User Sparky, the Tainted guided sig.png (τѧιк) 16:38, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Of course they did it on purpose :) I think the axe just makes this all the better. ~Cookies~ 18:30, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Ranger[edit]

The human is a ranger, not an assassin. You can clearly see the downed skill 'throw axe' and remember, that there are no longer profession based armors. Which means the ranger is probably wearing an assassin like medium armor. --Majere User Majere II sig.jpg 17:29, 25 September 2010 (UTC)

That is not enough evidence to scratch Assassin off the list, I am afraid. We have no knownledge on all the downed skills. Adventurers might all have a throw [weapon] downed skill, we simply don't know yet. Though, equally, armor looks do no longer determine professions, as you said. Speculation. - Infinite - talk 17:42, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
I doubt all adventurers would have the same downed skills (and if they have different 'throw -item-' skills this one is clearly an axe, which is already in the ranger's bar), because we already know of two different sets of skills among the scholars (elementalist and necromancer). I didn't mean there will be no assassins in GW2, just that this specific character here is probably a ranger. Also, it's more likely to be a ranger since assassins are yet to be announced, and I don't think anet would show a new profession before it is announced. --Majere User Majere II sig.jpg 23:01, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
I'm also sure it's a ranger. But technically, we saw necro before anet announced it. --Qral 23:10, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
I don't think you can count necromancer as proof that scholars don't have common ones since they use death shroud, which is a completely unique mechanic. However, given the elementalist's downed skills, I would think it's pretty likely. Depending on exactly how those skills work. (Do you have Throw Axe as a downed ranger if your two weapon sets are a longbow and a sword/dagger combo? I figured that's how it worked in the demos, but it seems odd.) --Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig.png (Talk) 00:42, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
