The Alliance Staging Ground is an area in west Mistburned Barrens. It is an ancient mursaat structure that has been converted by the Tyrian Alliance into a base camp for sending scouting missions into the zone.

The Lowland Kodan have also set up an altar here. It features a religious statue that likely represents the Southward Claw.

Ambient dialogue[edit]

A group of the Astral Ward with Collection objective.png icon above their head.
Janthir Gear Onlooker: Wow. That's quality armor.
True Sight Adventurer: Thanks!
True Sight Scholar: Thanks!
True Sight Soldier: Thanks!
West of the waypoint
Astral Ward Skirmisher: Medicine...weapons. Supplies donated from Cantha.
Astral Ward Skirmisher: Do you think this is enough food for everyone?
Villager: I sent word to the village that we'll need additional rations. Thankfully, we're well prepared for torpor. Plenty to share.
Southwest of the courtyard's campfire
Peaceful Glen: Ah, Lost Talus. I didn't realize you also left the village.
Lost Talus: The blight persists in our land. Rest will not greet me until it is settled.
Peaceful Glen: Walk this path together, we do.
Below the Mastery insight
Priory Historian: And your people have never traveled this far north?
Villager: If we tried to go any further north than the thundering shoreline, someone would get ill. Or our eyes would blur.
Priory Historian: Magic, you think?
Astral Ward Mage: Very likely.
South of the waypoint next to the table
(alternate 1)
Priory Scholar (1): Take a look at this one.
Priory Scholar (2): Two years ago, huh? That's pretty recent. I should get this to Anise—or Isgarren.
Priory Scholar (1): Probably best in the countess's hands. Still wrapping my mind around the "Astral Ward."
(alternate 2)
Priory Scholar (2): Caudecus sent them to wrangle a moa. Probably thought there was treasure in the city. What good would even more gold do him?
Priory Scholar (1): Alchemy, do you think he knew about the Mists Gate?
Northeast of the waypoint
Priory Scholar (1): Did you hear that? One of the walls just HISSED at me.
Priory Scholar (2): Have you given any more thought to that sabbatical offer, dear?
Southeast of the courtyard's campfire, next to the Mist Surge
Priory Scholar: (heaving breathing) A-alchemy...
Kodan Wildstalker: Sailed many a perilous storm, I have, but nothing compares to that.
Rift Hunter Warrior: What in the blazes happened to you two?
Priory Scholar: There are...pockets of concentrated Mists energy all over the isle, resulting in these magnificent, isolated wind tunnels.
Kodan Wildstalker: Send the journeykin soaring, they do.
Priory Scholar: And they very much enjoyed it!
Near the Construct Graveyard
Sparkling Glade: I can still hear the screaming... What magic can do such a thing?
Arcanist Nolai: A vile kind. It's called "Spectral Agony," and we have limited defense against it. I'm sorry for your friend.
Relic Hunter Bloodyfang: Bad way to go. A warrior should get to die with spear in hand.
Sparkling Glade: Oh, he did. Dragged one of the stranger's spawn with him. He was protecting my flank.
Relic Hunter Bloodyfang: Ah. A hero's death, then. I don't know what you lowlanders drink, but next round's on me.
Next to the Inert Mursaat Mirror
Astral Ward Skirmisher (1): I'm no expert in the mursaat art of shadowcraft, but I do know enough to recognize the magic in these mirrors.
Astral Ward Skirmisher (2): Just looking into it and I'm...cold. Everything's a little darker. What do you think it's for?
Astral Ward Skirmisher (1): I believe it's tapping into a sliver of reality between shadow and the tangible world that surrounds us.
Astral Ward Skirmisher (1): They melded that magic to the surface of this mirror, turning it into a gateway between other access points.
Above of the wall in the south of the courtyard's campfire
Priory Arcanist: What do you think this building was used for...? Sure doesn't feel welcoming.
Priory Magister: A storage facility, maybe. Lot of places to get lost.
Priory Arcanist: Storage facility for what? Food? Did the mursaat even eat?
Priory Magister: Votive offerings for the bloodstone... Grooves on the floor where the cages were... Huh, have you taken a good look at the stairs?
Priory Magister: They're worn smooth.
