Welcome![edit]

Hello. Welcome to the GW2W!! I see you are working on your userpage. Keep up the good work, just ask if you need any assistance. Cheers! Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 17:28, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

I have used gww a lot so far, but thanks for mentioning this.Yumiko ^,~ 17:30, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

GW2W linking?[edit]

Trying to have a GW2W box on my GWW user page keeps referencing my old merged account User: Hirohito Ishida. Why is this? The reverse ends up working fine (my GW2W user to my GWW user).Yumiko ^,~ 17:30, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

Canthans in GW2?[edit]

Will we still be able to choose our heritage at release? I can not find any info on this. I really will be disappointed if I can't make a Canthan born girl at character creation in GW2. This won't be my basis for buying the game as its too cool and epic to not buy and play it. It just will make me lose a few points of interest on it if its not included on release date.

Some players of GW said that they saw Canthan style homes in divinity's reach. So the question is, will NPCs only be able to have Canthan looks or will we be able to still choose to look like Canthans if the refugee theory everyone has holds true.Yumiko ^,~ 00:39, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

I'm expecting that it'll be possible. It'd be a step back if they didn't allow for choosing heritage D: Not to mention a lot of people would go like, all, 'OH, THEY'RE RACIST!' up in their face,... And stuff,... Yeah, I think it's highly likely that that choice will be in the game :p. --Naoroji User Naoroji Golem - Green.jpg 00:56, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Yeah ever since the 2010 demo and when I watched the vids, I didn't see it there so it caused some concern. I guess they did have to leave a lot out because they had to have a demo at the time. I just wish they wouldn't scare us like that.Yumiko ^,~ 01:02, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Are we going to be less of a butt monkey?[edit]

moved from Talk:Elementalist

It seems to me eles are worthless in GW 1. I hope we can do more damage and survive longer and not be killed on sight and abused like we are in Gw 1 with no skills to prevent rupts or knockdown or anything of that nature that we are always falling victim to. We are always, "LOOK ITS AN ELE KILL HER!" in pvp/pve.Yumiko ^,~ 05:53, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

please be trolling, the alternative would make me a sad panda -Auron 07:11, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
Wait, if they kill eles first, wouldnt that mean that eles are good, cuz it'd be pretty idiotic to kill the weakest link first and give the stronger foes more time to live... Konig/talk 07:54, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
Actually, Elementalists had skills to prevent both interrupts and knockdowns, as well as incredible defensive strength from permanent blind, tons of knockdown options, and water hexes galore. So I'm not really sure where you're coming from, Yumiko. And Konig, repeatedly killing the enemy team's weakest member to blow Resurrection Signets and give them too much DP to be useful was a pretty smart tactic, especially in all the areas where you can win by getting a kill and then stalling out the timer. Felix Omni Signature.png 12:59, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
Obby flesh? Wastes your elite slot that can be used for another good damage skill. Mixing elements (earth/water) for wards and armor skills with raw damage (fire/air) isn't productive *cough* master of magic *cough*. Mantra of resolve was nerfed into oblivion in pvp. VoS? Eles can use, but it cuts into your chosen element or energy storage. Shadow form isn't too bad as long as you can have enough in one element and one only. The way it was set up in gw1 wasn't too practical. I could be trolling but we do not know the nature of damage and abilities, stats, mechanics etc. In GW 2 so we don't know how improved Ele is. In GW 1, I really think rangers and mesmers are far more dangerous and damaging in pvp these days, so I wish they'd leave me alone. If we are talking 2006, ele would have been much more deadly.Yumiko ^,~ 15:19, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
Worthless? That's the last word I would use.. -- Cyan User Cyan Light sig.jpg 15:40, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
If you hop on gwpvx.com you can see that ele's have more meta pvp builds then any other class besides the monk. So that alone says something about the class. But from all of the demos gw2 ele's o seem to be pretty awesome. --Moto Saxon 18:11, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
I was actually talking about Glyph of Concentration and Ward of Stability. Felix Omni Signature.png 19:13, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

Questions on running GW and GW 2 on a new machine.[edit]

I just lost my Hp g60 231WM to a mobo failure. I will be extracting the hard drive and enclosing it for reuse. But now I need a machine to reinstall GW 1. This is not the question here though. The question I'm asking is that my now dead machine has an integrated Nivida Geforce 8600M G and it ran GW 1 at all high at 20 average FPS on the best conditions. If I get a new machine with a similar card (preferably a tower-based PC)and power, then, is this sufficient for GW 2 or will I need to go higher and invest in a real gaming rig? Also note my laptop lasted me 3 years and close to four if it survived until July.Yumiko ^,~ 02:36, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

I would not recommend playing any games made in the last decade with an integrated graphics card, let alone a brand new one. Felix Omni Signature.png 02:41, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Usually only laptops have integrated cards right? Yet are most of the premade (tower) machines you buy online at brand names and in the best buys and wall-marts that contain replaceable GPUs that are no better than integrated ones in my now dead laptop?Yumiko ^,~ 02:49, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
As you would like to get a new tower PC, I recommend building your own and most definitely spending some money on an actual video card. There is quite a difference between onboard video for desktop mobos and integrated video for laptops. Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 14:32, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

Yeah about as tired as all of us are of the GW2 whine crowd[edit]

Its not like any of us are getting into a beta or anything (you probably need to be friends of the staff, or have 100% clean account records I.E. no bans/suspensions in GW1, or random drawing). Nor anything we say or suggest will make it into the game (its like a 1% chance). What really gets to me like it gets to the others here (such as Onigawa and infinite) is the QQ and WoW tards and noobs thinking they know so much about things when even us wiki writers and six year GW 1 vets here hardly know any more than they do (yet we get our info from reading the official blogs) and they make baseless assumptions on stuff in the game (they believe Guardian = Monk or think we will be LFG 3 Guardians) when it hasn't even released yet. And still we continue to say speculation does not belong on pages here and yet they continue to try.

I am beginning to think like I am doing with my own wiki for my future book series and might suggest only allowing changes on here to be for a select few that can be responsible with this wiki until the release comes officially because we all know how bad the Mesmer thing was...just saying.

P.S. We should all leave the non loyal players in teh dust upon release as well and form our own guilds clique and groups and never allow them in our parties, etc. Just to show them if they think they can be in with us they can't.Yumiko ^,~ 18:51, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

In the previous section, you asked us to provide baseless assumptions regarding the specifications required by the game.
Make your mind up. User A F K When Needed Signature Icon.png A F K When Needed 18:55, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
What I mean here is regarding the game and its mechanics, etc. But yeah touche.Yumiko ^,~ 19:00, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Possible GW 2 next gen console release along with PC?[edit]

I read this in the comments on this website: Gameinformer.com-Guild Wars 2 and Arena Net is toying around with the idea at the moment it seems. Just think Wii-U, PS3 (or 4), and XBOX 360 releases!Yumiko ^,~ 19:35, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks to whomever managed to clean up my mistake.[edit]

It seems the Internet got very slow for some reason when I submitted that entry and it doubled.Yumiko ^,~ 21:33, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

Pre-pruchase YAY!![edit]

I got my copy! Hopefully there is no Searing Purchase (Bad joke) haha!Yumiko ^,~ 16:32, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

My server?[edit]

I choose Kaineng server (as I'm a big Cantha fan) in the beta, but it shows me an international userbox on my userspace? Kaineng is an American server. Is this bugged in wiki?Yumiko ^,~ 19:50, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Maybe I shouldn't be the one to say this[edit]

But after having stumbled upon this, yet again an unconstructive, personal, and distracting comment from which the wiki doesn't benefit at all, I am going to play the bad guy yet again and press upon you to stop those type of comments on main space talk pages. We are not a forum, nor a blog, nor a giant off-topic section for the official forums. We are the Guild Wars 2 Wiki. Talk pages are about revision to the articles. If that doesn't meet your expectations; it's still also a place to pose questions that help the wiki improve their articles (we find out what information is missing). Your comment improves nothing. It is best placed on your user talk page (to which I will move it to in a second). Please, after repeated attempts to make this clear, abstain from commenting in a non-constructive way on main space talk pages or administrative actions will have to be taken. Your activity is definitely valued, but comments like those are absolutely not. - Infinite - talk 15:39, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

/me[edit]

moved from Talk:Emote#/me

RPers rejoice! I already did some silly stuff with that, like jump into water and typed, "/me pees in the lake" lol! Yumiko ^,~ 14:57, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

Linking outside web pages in gw2 chat channels?[edit]

Has anyone tried that in the last beta? I didn't know enough on the game controls and UI to even try. I know we did it with skill template names in GW 1 and you had to copy the url but gw 2 has the same builds on everyone. So what do we do now how can we send links to people? Yumiko ^,~ 14:54, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Might as well test that during next week's stress test. Maybe even try if, assuming that we can past URL links, the chat system uses some kind of filters or has built-in functions for web stuff, etc. Accessing GW2 via browser should also (still?) be possible at release, so it'd be weird if we just couldn't put URLs in anymore in any (even improvised) way. Mediggo 15:48, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Invisible bags akin to equip packs in gw 1[edit]

I see Anet really thought about things and made bags that can be used for a similar purpose to what our equip packs were in gw1. Yumiko ^,~ 16:26, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Ore and ingots[edit]

None of these are worth their weight in their metal. I find it strange I can sell a silver ore for only 3 copper. I wonder why Anet did this.Yumiko ^,~ 16:46, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Physical Copy?[edit]

Will I get a physical copy of GW 2 with the disks and everything? I Pre-Purchased at Gamestop when they were doing them for the first time. I paid for standard. I don't want any of that non physically in my hand digital shit. Yumiko ^,~ 15:29, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

If you pre-purchased from anywhere but buy.guildwars2.com, then yes, you will get a physical copy. Digital copies are only through buy.guildwars2.com (which only sells digital copies). —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:38, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
Good I was worried that I wouldn't considering the GW2.exe we are using now. Yumiko ^,~ 15:40, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
To add to that, you still have the digital download for the 3-day head-start, then after the official release date, you've got a week to head to your GameStop and pick up the physical copy and use the code it comes with to continue using your account uninterrupted. You can of course skip on the GW2.exe download entirely, and just pick up the physical copy and installer on release day, you miss out on the head-start access though. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 15:52, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Weapon lists like in gw1?[edit]

When will we start having a list of weapons (with stats, rarity, currency values, etc) available to us? We have betas that which all the stuff we see in them will be most likely on release. So why isn't anyone adding info one every single weapon we find? Yumiko ^,~ 22:54, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Need a certain userbox.[edit]

There is a userbox for people that have a certain edition of GW 2 already, but I can't find one for standard/digital. any way to get a category or standalone userbox for that? I still have (well had) the plan to buy GW 2 userbox. Yumiko ^,~ 23:12, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

How do I add my Cd key for gw 2?[edit]

I don't want to do it the way they have it currently because it looks like I'm making a whole new account. I pre-purchased and been playing since BWE 1. I do not want to lose my lv 25 ele. Anyone here know what I am supposed to do as after 5 days, I will not be able to play. We also need a page explaining this on here.Yumiko ^,~ 22:17, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

The method they show in their tutorial - the one that looks almost like you're making a new account - will simply add the key to the existing account, with nothing lost. Just make sure you use the same information as your existing account. --User Jioruji Derako logo.png Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 11:24, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
